SCI has agreed partnerships with Danish firms Hysafe and Hytek, both part of the Hytek Group. The companies will have sales and installation rights for SCI's Safelaunch lifeboat release and retrieval systems (LRRS), which comply with the latest Solas MSC.1 / Circ 1392 guidelines. This latest agreement follows similar SCI announcements of partnerships in Holland, Belgium, Germany and Greece.

David Weston has been appointed training and competence operations manager at the business, which recently opened its 12th office in Rotterdam. Survival Craft Inspectorate (SCI), a global provider of emergency marine evacuation systems, is to launch a new division at the Cruise Shipping Miami 2013 exhibition (March 11-14, 2013). The new division of SCI will supply, install and maintain emergency liferafts for the commercial cruise shipping and energy markets. SCI will initially open three offices in the United Kingdom with the first being at the company’s Findon operation. Initially 10 jobs will be created across the three new operations.

Shell UK Ltd placed an order for two new 72 seat lifeboats from Survival Craft Inspectorate Ltd in Aberdeen. The lifeboats will replace two 56 seat lifeboats aboard the Anasuria FPSO operating in the North Sea. The new lifeboats will use the vessel’s existing davits but due to their design, will enable an increase in crew carrying capacity.
