Sembawang Shipyard to Convert 2 FPSOs for Kaombo Project, Angola
Sembcorp Marine’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has secured a Floating Storage Production Offloading (FPSO) conversion contract worth about S$600 million from Saipem SA, France for the conversion of Two FPSOs for the Kaombo Project in Offshore Angola. Sembawang Shipyard was awarded this milestone contract on the strength of its capabilities and established track record in the field of FPSO conversion, modification and upgrading work. Under the contract, the Shipyard is responsible for the conversion of 2 Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) sister ships into 2 turret-moored FPSOs for the Kaombo project located in offshore Angola, approximately 150 km from the coast.
Alberto ALBERT to Design For MGM Lines
Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Italian firm Alberto ALBERT was awarded a project to design for Logistic firm MGM Lines s.r.l. the transport of eight items for USAN Deepwater development project belonging from SAIPEM S.A USAN UFR & OLT Project. The transport, using M/V MPP SHIELD, was done in two phases. The first voyage of 1800nm from Bayonne F to Arbatax I carrying four SPM top assembly weighing 33t each into the hold. The second from Arbatax I to Port Harcourt, Nigeria, SCNL terminal carrying other four underwater Buoyancy Tanks weighing 165t each.
Stolt Offshore Awarded Dalia FPSO Topsides Contract
Stolt Offshore has been awarded, by TotalFinaElf E&P Angola, a contract, as part of a Joint Venture with Technip-Coflexip and Saipem-SA, for the FPSO topsides on the Dalia field development in Block 17 offshore Angola. The contract, valued in excess of $550 million, is for the topsides modules and their integration to the hull and will be carried out in consortium with Samsung Heavy Industries and the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Company in South Korea. share is 27.5%. In addition the Consortium will be responsible for various items of equipment that are to be assigned by TotalFinaElf, including the management of the contract awarded to Samsung Heavy Industries to build the FPSO hull in South Korea.
