Vestdavit Reports Record Sales

Liebherr Turnover Tops $11 Billion

MAN Engines Expands Sales & Service Network

MAN Engines said it is expanding its sales and service network for marine engines with bases in the U.K., Poland, Sweden and Chile. Liebherr Reports Record Year for Offshore Cranes

With 87 units delivered in 2014, Liebherr offshore cranes achieved a new per year delivery record, more than doubling its delivery numbers from 2012. HK's COSCO International Reports Strong Profit Growth

For the  six months ended 30th June 2014, shipping services provider COSCO International has announced that its 2014 Interim Results show strong profit growth with Net Profit up 45% YOY. Strong profit growth: profit attributable to the equity holders surged by 45% to HK$190 million. Rebound of 374% YOY in profit contribution from the Group's joint venture, Jotun COSCO. Thrustmaster Adds Waterjets to Product Line

Thruster manufacturer Thrustmaster of Texas, Inc. expanded its product lineup to include waterjets after acquiring the technology of DOEN Pacific on Wednesday. DOEN, a designer and manufacturer of waterjet propulsion systems for the past 48 years, is one of five marine waterjet manufactures in the world building waterjets up to 4,000 kW for the commercial and military marine markets. To meet the demands of large scale, commercial applications Thrustmaster said it plans to introduce two new models to the DOEN waterjet product lineup.

Japan Radio Supplies Misje Rederi AS ECDIS Retrofit

ProNav, the Norwegian distributor for Japan Radio Company Ltd. (JRC), was awarded a contract for supplying twenty two ECDIS systems to the entire fleet of Norwegian shipowner Misje Rederi AS. All eleven dual-systems will be supplied and commissioned by Brommeland Elektronikk AS, a part of ProNav's professional sales- and service network. The JRC ECDIS systems are supplied through a leasing program, and Misje Rederi is one of several other shipping companies finding this program as a good solution. Cost-wise it enables the possibilities to have the latest technology in the complete fleet at the same time, the company said, which again is beneficial in regards to type specific training, crew-changes, service etc.

ABB to Buy UK's Dynamotive Ltd.

ABB to acquire the Coalville, UK-based manufacturer of  drives, controls and motors for industrial and marine applications & automotive test rigs. Dynamotive has about 40 employees and is privately owned. ABB says its owners will continue to work for them. “The acquisition of Dynamotive will enable ABB to expand its service operations including upgrade and retrofit capabilities in low and medium voltage drives. Furthermore, it will help ABB to increase its sales of complete industrial motion packages, which include drives, motors, controls and related services,” said Pekka Tiitinen, head of ABB's Drives and Controls business unit. Dynamotive will be integrated into ABB’s Drives and Controls business unit, led in the UK by Neil Ritchie.
