Damen Delivers Workboat to Multraship

Towage and salvage operator Multraship has taken delivery of the first of two customized Damen Stan Launch 804s vessels for its line handling and boatmen service companies in Terneuzen, the Netherlands. Verenigde Bootlieden B.V. and Montis Mooring & Boatservice B.V. will use the vessels to support port operations. In December Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam in the Netherlands delivered the first Stan Launch 804s, Montis 5, and the second vessel, VB 2, will be delivered in early February after 16 weeks under construction.

Titan Establishes Salvage Base in Australia

Titan Salvage continues to expand globally with the recent addition of a new salvage base and depot in Australia. The facility located in Cairns, Queensland is strategically located to respond to marine and environmental disasters threatening the Great Barrier Reef and other marine casualties throughout the Australasia and South West Pacific regions. As part of the expansion, Titan has exclusively partnered with Perrott Salvage of Cairns, a locally based salvage operator, who will serve as Titan's regional representative.

Salvors Refloat Grounded Chem Carrier

Multraship, working in co-operation with Belgian salvage operator URS Salvage & Maritime Contracting, has refloated an Italian-flag chemical carrier which grounded off the Dutch coast, very close to a heavily populated tourist beach, on July 31. The 5,045 gt Rubino grounded off the beach at Zoutelande just after high tide. This is a very popular tourist area, and bathers and swimmers were ordered out of the water, to safety. The salvors, operating under an LOF agreement and working in close co-operation with the local authorities…

Multraship buys Bulgarian Towage Company

Multraship Towage & Salvage has purchased Bulgarian towage and salvage operator Bourgas Tug Services. BTS provides harbor towage, local salvage and line handling services in and around the Bulgarian port of Bourgas. It has a fleet of four tugboats ranging from 1,500 - 4,300 bhp and fifty employees. Leendert Muller, managing director of Multraship said, "This is an important step for Multraship in developing our presence in the Black Sea. substantial benefits to shipowners using the Black Sea ports. Multraship is a leading independent Dutch towage and salvage company. It operates and manages a fleet of 26 tugs, salvage vessels, floating sheerlegs and other craft.
