SAM Taihang to Equip Brazilian Tankers

SAM Taihang Electronics, SAM Electronics’ Chinese subsidiary in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, has been awarded a contract for the supply of comprehensive automation and electrical systems to be installed on four 48,300 dwt product tankers being built at the Estaleiro Maua Petro-Um yard in Rio de Janeiro for Transpetro, the logistics and transportation arm of the Brazilian state oil company, Petrobas. Due for delivery in 2010-11, the vessels form part of Transpetro’s major fleet renewal programme involving construction of over 40 newbuildings, Promef. Systems commissioned for each ship comprise a 15-panel 440V/230V main switchboard with integral power management system GPM 500 and diesel protection functions…

Major Chinese Order for SAM Electronics

Hamburg-based SAM Electronics, in association with its Chinese subsidiary, SAM Taihang Electronics, has been awarded a contract to supply and install NACOS 54-5 integrated navigation command systems featuring radar-controlled trackpilots, Ecdis and other sensors aboard ten 31,000-dwt multi-purpose heavy lift vessels under construction by Huanghai Shipbuilding of Rongcheng for delivery to Columbia Shipmanagement between 2009 and 2012. Under the contract for ships that will be operated by Austral Asia Line (AAL) on its South East Asia and Australasian routes, SAM Electronics will additionally supply compass systems as well as GMDSS and satellite communications equipment together with associated consoles.

SAM Electronics to Exhibit at Marintec

Hamburg-based SAM Electronics will exhibit in the German Pavilion (Stand 1C31) in association with its local Shanghai office and its Chinese joint-venture company, SAM Taihang Electronics of Taizhou, a comprehensive range of advanced navigation, propulsion, power management and distribution, and ship automation systems. Key exhibits include sections of a locally-produced Integrated Bridge System combining and automating all main bridge equipment operating functions for navigation, communications and general ship management. It incorporates a latest NACOS Series 4 navigation command system. Among other navigation products will be the new European wheelmark-accredited Debeg 3400 UAIS together with its companion Debeg 3401 Display Control Unit (DCU).

Lyngsø Marine Awarded Contract

Lyngsø Marine of Hørsholm, Denmark, a subsidiary of SAM Electronics, has been awarded a contract for supply of integrated automation packages for installation aboard a series of 14 54,000 dwt bulk carriers under construction at Hanoi-based Vinashin Group’s Dung Quat and Ha Long yards for delivery to its own shipping line between 2008 and 2010. Each vessel package comprises complementary MCS 2200 integrated monitoring and control and PCS 2200 propulsion control systems together with newly-developed EGS 2200 electronic governors for main engine control. The systems, which will be mounted in purpose-designed engine room consoles, all feature open architecture as well as standardized hardware and software modules.
