Mohamed Samara, CEO of MPS Terminal 3 at Tema Port, Ghana, announced that shareholders had approved the immediate construction of Phase 2 with completion expected by end of 2020, two years earlier than initially planned.With a depth of 18 meters, the new entrance channel to the Port is one of the deepest in Africa, allowing the worlds’ biggest vessels to enter both today and in the coming years.The harbor basin provides the space to dredge deeper and build additional wharves if required. The first vessel has successfully docked at Tema Port’s new MPS Terminal 3, Ghana, said a statement from APM Terminals.The container vessel will be used for training purposes over the coming weeks, to ensure that the terminal runs smoothly from day one, when operations begin later this month on June 28.Chartering the test vessel will cost around 250,000 Dollars. Following the results of nine months of 2014, Syzran Refinery, a part of the Samara group of refineries of Rosneft, increased output of major oil products compared to the same period in 2013. For instance, almost 1.5 million tons of diesel fuel were produced which is 12% higher compared to the first nine months of 2013, and exceeds the plan by 18%. Production of motor spirit increased by 85 thousand tons compared to the previous year, and amounted to 900 thousand tons. The plant exceeded the business plan by 14%. Production of light-oil products increased by 3.5% compared to the same period of 2013, up to over 3 million tons. Also throughput performance amounted to about 5.5 million tons of oil, which is 144 thousand tons more than for the previous year, and 10% over target figures.

Thirty Rosneft subsidiaries in most of the regions of the Company presence, from Sakhalin in the east to the Arkhangelsk Region in the west, took part in the All-Russian Environmental Cleanup Day ‘Green Russia’. A reactor and a cold high-pressure separator is delivered to the site of Rosneft subsidiary Syzran Refinery for the constructed diesel hydro-treater. The unit is designed for the removal of sulphur and nitrogen compounds, as well as of other solids to improve diesel-fuel and to bring its environmental specifications to Euro-5 level. The weight of the reactor is 400 tons, the length is 36 m, and the diameter is 4.5 m. The weight of the cold high-pressure separator is 345.5 tons, the length is 26.5 m, and the diameter is about 4.5 m. The equipment has been delivered by water with the use of marine and river transport. It has made 4 thousand km from Port of Ortona to the Volga river within 45 days.

Achinsk Oil refinery, suspended after the incident of June 15, 2014 has recovered the processes of primary crude oil processing on a tight schedule, according to the plan of repair activities. From the 1st of September the enterprise has commenced production of the main types of oil products: straight-run gasoline, diesel fuel, marine fuel and aviation fuel, as well as WLHF (wide light hydrocarbon fraction). Concurrently with the primary crude processing plant a VT-Bitumen unit, producing petroleum bitumen, resumed to operating. Achinsk refinery is planned to produce more than 400 thousand tons of finished product, which makes more than 70% of prefault performance. The production volume will be increased in months to come.

Ivory Coast received orders for a $750 million dollar bond of more than six times the issue size, one of the lead managers said on Wednesday. Ivory Coast launched the 10-year bond late on Wednesday at a yield of 5.625 percent, 3-1/2 years after civil war led it to default on restructured dollar debt. Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx was sworn in as the nation’s 17th Secretary of Transportation by Judge Nathaniel Jones in a private ceremony at U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters at 11 a.m. yesterday (July 2). The ceremony was attended by Foxx’s wife, Samara, and their two children, Hillary and Zachary, and used a Bible belonging to Secretary Foxx’s great-grandparents, Peter and Ida Kelly. Secretary Foxx worked for Judge Jones as a law clerk for the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals after law school and invited Judge Jones to administer the oath of office today.

Pella Shipyard in the Leningrad region of Russia will deliver two pusher type towboats to their owner “Best” of Samara, Russia in late summer of 2006. Designed by Spetssudoproekt of St. Petersburg, the 30.4 by 8.8-m (99.7x28.9-feet) will have a molded depth of 3.8 m and a 2.8 m draft. Propulsion will be provided by a pair of Cummins KTA38-M1 engines rated for 746 kW (1,000 hp) at 1,800 rpm. The engines will turn into a pair of Rolls-Royce model US155 Z-drives with 1600 mm (63-in.) fixed-pitch propellers in nozzles. This propulsion system is expected to be give the boat a 24-ton bollard pull and a 13-knot light running speed. Auxiliary engines are two 6B-CP80DM/5 (80 kW, 50 Hz) and one 47 kw emergency gen set for each vessel. Each vessel will be fitted with a single 10-ton deck winch.
