Marlink has signed an agreement to enter into a joint venture with the satellite connectivity business of Greece and Cyprus based TNL Group, enabling it to launch a brand new maritime satellite communications expert, Marlink CG. Delivering a wide portfolio of innovative Marlink VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) services, Inmarsat FleetXpress, Inmarsat/Iridium MSS (Mobile Satellite Services) and integrated business critical solutions for customers in Southern Europe, Marlink CG will operate from offices in Greece and Cyprus, with expert staff from both TNL and Marlink dedicated to improving the flexibility and reliability of maritime satcom in the region.

Marlink has moved to a new office in Singapore in order to meet the growing demand for delivery and support of its portfolio of multi-band, business critical communication solutions for maritime customers operating in Southeast Asia. The original Marlink Singapore office was opened in 1998. The new Marlink Singapore office adds new facilities and potential while continuing to be a vital resource for local and international vessels through delivery of sales, installation and support services. The new office managed by Eric Jan Bakker, Head of Sales Asia in Marlink, includes a fully equipped support center operating seven days a week, in addition to live test, demonstration and training facilities, covering all of Marlink’s core connectivity services and solutions.

Inmarsat has appointed SpeedCast International Limited (SpeedCast), a leading global network and satellite communications service provider, as a Distribution Partner (DP) for its flagship maritime service, FleetBroadband, and Fleet One, its new voice and broadband data service for leisure yachts and near-shore fishing boats. Intelsat S.A. reported financial results for the 2012 fourth quarter and full year. Intelsat S.A. reported revenue of $672.4 million and a net loss of $3.7 million for the three months ended December 31, 2012. The company also reported Intelsat S.A. EBITDA1, or earnings before net interest, loss on early extinguishment of debt, taxes and depreciation and amortization, of $520.0 million, and Intelsat S.A. Adjusted EBITDA1 of $516.5 million, or 77 percent of revenue, for the three months ended December 31, 2012. For the 12 months ended December 31, 2012, Intelsat S.A.
