Inmarsat in IoT Start-Up Initiative

The provider of global mobile satellite communications Inmarsat has joined forces with two start-up programmes including Rainmaking’s Trade and Transport Impact (T&TI) and Bluetech Accelerator.The purpose is to create initiatives that directly support start-ups focused on IoT and big data innovation for improved safety, efficiency and sustainability in the maritime, ports and logistics supply chain.The programmes will fund, support and mentor start-up’s developing applications that aim to harness the power of IoT and big data to enhance safety, efficiency and sustainability. Orolia, Transas Partner to Offer e-Maritime Solutions

Intelsat Makes Senior Appointment

SatCom provider Intelsat S.A. announce James Collett has joined the company as Director of Mobility Services Product Management. Based in Intelsat’s London office, Collett will be responsible for advancing Intelsat’s mobility product line and furthering the company’s leadership role in providing managed services and space-only solutions to the aeronautical, maritime and government sectors. Collett has more than 25 years of industry experience, including 13 years at Inmarsat, where most recently he was Senior Director of Maritime Business.
