VMAG Rolls Out its Marine Refit and New Build Department

Seaspan Implements ECO Insight solution

Seaspan Ship Management Ltd. will implement the DNV GL fleet performance management solution ECO Insight to improve their fleet monitoring. ECO Insight will also enable Seaspan to increase their vessel’s performance and energy efficiency. “Seaspan has spent considerable effort to develop its capabilities around fleet performance. Close monitoring of the performance of our fleet is in line with our mission of safe, reliable and economical operations. The ability to measure hull degradation very accurately was what made this performance management solution interesting for us,” says Peter Jackson, Director of the projects and technology department at Seaspan. “We also welcomed the fact that ECO Insight uses the data we already collect on board our vessels.

Fuel Quality Data Tapped for Fleet Performance

Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) and DNV GL signed a cooperation agreement to develop a new module for DNV GL’s ECO Insight fleet performance management solution at the Nor-Shipping trade fair. Raymarine New C-Series Widescreen

Raymarine, Inc. introduced its new line of C-Series Widescreen Multifunction Displays (MFDs) to the U.S. market. Furuno to Offer Sirius Marine Weather

Furuno and SIRIUS are working together to provide satellite weather information on the NavNet vx2 line of multifunction navigation units. Furuno will be releasing the BBWX1 SIRIUS Weather Receiver in late spring. This receiver will simply plug into an existing NavNet vx2 network, requiring only a software update to the NavNet vx2 displays to allow access to the BBWX1. The combination of NavNet vx2 and the BBWX1 will provide live, up-to-date weather information and forecasting. The information will be overlayed onto a C-Map MAX chart, allowing one to see the weather cells in relation to one’s geographic location. A monthly SIRIUS Marine Weather subscription is required.
