Capuco is Chief Naval Architect of Gibbs & Cox
Gibbs & Cox, Inc., an independent naval architecture and marine engineering firm, announced the appointment of Mr. Benedict P. Capuco as Chief Naval Architect. In this role, Capuco will provide corporate leadership to the company's naval architecture and marine engineering capabilities and solutions across the Gibbs & Cox global portfolio. Prior to this appointment, Capuco served as Vice President and Group Manager of the Platform Solutions Group of Gibbs & Cox, leading full ship design projects including commercial projects, foreign navy projects, and U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard projects, most notably the FREEDOM Class Littoral Combat Ship and the Offshore Patrol Cutter.
Johns Receives 2011 Connie Award From CII

2010 Norm Manly YMTA Scholarship
The Youth Maritime Training Association (YMTA) is a non-discriminating nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting students who wish to pursue careers in the maritime industry including the marine sciences. The YMTA offers an annual scholarship which may be used by students pursuing maritime training and education in community colleges, technical and vocational programs, colleges, universities, maritime academies or other educational institutions. Scholarships will be awarded in the amounts of one $5,000, one $3,000, and two $1,000 in the Spring of 2010. Must plan to pursue a post-secondary training or educational program leading to a maritime or marine related career.
