Boost for Scrabster Harbor Project

The second phase in a major upgrade of Scrabster Harbor in Caithness, the North of Scotland, has secured up to GBP3 million investment from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).The funding will enable the redevelopment of the existing St. Ola pier to create further deep-water infrastructure and meet anticipated demand from cruise ships and offshore energy supply vessels. It will place the port in an ideal position to service activity in the West of Shetland basin.A new piled quay wall and pier deck will be installed to expand the existing pier. Both the inner and outer side of the pier will be dredged to create water depth of no less than 9m.

Norsea Group Makes Long-term UK Commitment

NorSea Group (UK) Limited is making a major, long-term commitment to the UK with the announcement that it will take over operatorship of Smith Quay and Embankment at Peterhead on a 10-year agreement as of September 1. NorSea Group also has a 15-year lease at South Quay in Montrose and a long term agreement with Scrabster Harbour Trust. John Wallace, CEO at Peterhead Port Authority is delighted to welcome NorSea Group to the Port given their profile within the industry, personnel and resources. ā€˜We built up a strong portfolio of clients at the Smith Quay base, but it became apparent that we needed a professionally focused and integrated company such as NorSea Group to continue the success and provide the level of service expected at Peterhead, to grow this business further.

NorSea Invests in First Scotland Supply Base

NorSea Group and the Scrabster Harbour Trust in Caithness have agreed on construction of the new supply base for the oil & gas sector. Under the agreement NorSea Group will work with the Trust to bring in new business and develop Scotlandā€™s most northerly mainland port as a one-stop supply base servicing the oil and gas industry. "We are very excited about co-operating with Scrabster Harbour Trust to develop business for the strategically important port of Scrabster. The vision and commitment of the Trust have been fundamental in our decision to establish NorSea Group there.
