EID Wins Portuguese Navy Communications Contract

Cohort company EID has been awarded a contract by the Portuguese Navy for the supply of Integrated Communications systems to the Tejo class coastal patrol vessels. The €4.6 million contract encompasses the supply of radio equipment, ICCS, integration engineering and logistic services. The contract also includes additional supplies for the second batch of the Viana do Castelo Oceanic Patrol Vessels, being built by West Sea shipyards in the North West city of Viana do Castelo. “We have been supplying communications systems to the Portuguese Navy ships since 1985.

Fincantieri Nets Pair of Diverse Russian Contracts

During the Italy-Russia Business Forum in Trieste, Italy, Fincantieri secured a contract to build a semi-submersible floating platform for the transportation of nuclear submarine reactor compartments. The company also signed an agreement to define plans for an advanced technology offshore energy drill-ship. Fincantieri has been contracted by RosRAO, the Federal State Unitary Enterprise for radioactive waste management, to build a semi-submersible floating platform for the transportation of nuclear submarine reactor compartments.

The Technology EnviroMax Deepwater OSV

Technology Associates, Inc (TAI) a New Orleans based Naval Architecture firm which also has an office in India has unveiled its Technology EnviroMax 300 OSV. Utilizing a unique Designer/Builder relationship, this design was developed in conjunction with Thoma‐Sea Shipyards. The design already has up to six vessels under construction at Thoma‐Sea Shipyards’ facilities in Lockport, Laa. Thoma‐ Sea Shipyards acquired this facility from Halter Marine in 2002 and has been using it to build OSV’s up to 270ft.

Thoma-Sea Shipyards Receives US Navy Contract

Thoma-Sea Ship Builders, LLC of Lockport, La, announced that the U.S. Navy has chosen the company to build a Catamaran Hull Hydrographic Survey Vessel. This vessel will be built by Thoma-Sea as a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case for the country of Oman. Construction will be managed and supervised by the U.S. Navy. The contract value is approx $7.3m. Thoma-Sea’s partner in this proposal is Technology Associates, Inc (TAI) of New Orleans, La.
