Reederei Hamburger Lloyd Chooses Sealink Plus VSAT

Hamburg-based shipping group Reederei Hamburger Lloyd will move its fleet of nine containerships and six bulk carriers to Marlink’s Sealink Plus VSAT package including unlimited L-band backup. Hamburger Lloyd is a long term customer of Telemar Germany and was looking for a communications solution that provides a quality link for downloading ECDIS updates, which is critical to the fleet’s navigational safety. Asian Maritime Sector Ready for More VSAT

NSC-Group Chooses Marlink VSAT

Hamburg headquartered international ship operator NSC-Group has chosen Marlink to move its fleet of about 60 vessels to high bandwidth maritime VSAT. NSC-Group has chosen a 10GB data allowance per month per ship on Marlink’s Sealink VSAT, to ensure sufficient capacity is available across its fleet for all crew welfare and business/operational use. NSC-Group’s diverse fleet, consisting a mix of Container Ships, Multi-Purpose Carriers, Bulkers, Container Bulkers, Car Carriers and Tankers will all experience a significant data speed and capacity boost with Sealink VSAT services, supported by the XChange communications management system and business critical solutions such as SkyFile Mail.

Marlink Introduces Telemedicine Service

Marlink has launched XChange Telemed, a new telemedicine service designed to improve the health and safety of crew and passengers at sea, while meeting new ILO/MLC and IMO/STCW labor regulations for health and medical treatment on board. XChange Telemed provides a cost-effective way for shipping companies to manage both regular and emergency medical consultations for the welfare of crew and passengers, thereby supporting the medical health of seafarers and reducing the risk of spiraling costs incurred due to medical emergencies on board.

Marlink Doubles Speed with Sealink VSAT Data Allowance

Marlink has doubled the burst speed on its Sealink VSAT services, enabling up to 3 Mbps for users on its data allowance packages, enabling faster Internet access and a smoother web browsing experience. New 40, 60 and 80 gigabyte (GB) data allowances have been introduced in parallel to the burst speed increase, enabling users with high bandwidth requirements to extend their smart shipping and crew welfare strategies with maritime VSAT network. Combined with the potential for faster Internet access, the new Sealink allowances enable significantly more capacity for smarter operational efficiency and enhance crew data communications while providing access to social media and web browsing.

CMA CGM Renews Sealink VSAT Services

Marlink has been contracted to implement the KeepUp@Sea IT operational platform from Norwegian maritime IT&C experts Palantir on 110 vessels of one of the world’s largest shipping companies, CMA CGM. CMA CGM’s 200 maritime services call at more than 420 ports, covering all five continents. The contract is part of the recent renewal of CMA CGM’s Sealink connectivity services. KeepUp@Sea will be used to standardize, simplify and automate vessel IT-management, improving the efficiency and security of CMA CGM’s IT-operations.

Marlink Installs VSAT for KOTC Fleet

Marlink announced it has completed the roll-out of VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) connectivity across the entire Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) fleet of 26 tankers, during a three month project started in March 2015. The final vessel, Mutriba, was completed and fully online by mid-June 2015. Marlink was awarded the contract to deliver VSAT to KOTC’s fleet in January 2015. Marlink Inks Deal with Neste Oil

Marlink to provide services to all eight Neste Oil vessels.

Neste Oil extended its VSAT services with Marlink while upgrading its network and on board satellite hardware. As part of the contract extension, Marlink is installing new VSAT antennas on all eight Neste Oil vessels whilst migrating the fleet to the established iDirect platform. The delivery, based on Marlink’s Sealink VSAT services also features multibearer support and the @SEAoptimizer solution, which is designed to enhance the efficiency of satellite data communications, optimize bandwidth utilisation and enhance the performance of web browsing and file transfers.

Marlink to Supply 23 Simon Møkster Vessels

Marlink, the largest provider of maritime satellite communications, has recently extended its contract with offshore vessel operator Simon Møkster Shipping AS for a further 5 years. As part of the latest agreement, Marlink will continue the provision of its Sealink™ VSAT services aboard 18 existing vessels, as well as supply to five new vessels scheduled for build in 2011 and 2012. Simon Møkster Shipping AS operates its fleet of vessels primarily in the North Sea within the areas of Platform Supply, Anchor Handling, Sub Sea, Ro-Ro cargo and Emergency Services. The company has worked with Marlink for over ten years. This latest contract will see Marlink supply its satellite communications services to a total of 23 vessels in the Simon Møkster fleet.

Solstad Shipping Renews with Marlink

Marlink, maritime satellite communications integrator, has signed a 60-month agreement to provide the Sealink Maritime VSAT solution to the Norwegian Offshore company Solstad Shipping. The Solstad fleet of 23 vessels will use Sealink Maritime VSAT and other services from the Marlink portfolio.
