Glamox to Illuminate Havfram Wind's Newbuild WTIVs

Lighting solutions specialist Glamox has won a contract from the Chinese shipbuilder Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited to light Havfram Wind’s two new Wind Turbine Installation Vessels (WTIV). These new vessels will be capable of installing the next generation of giant wind turbines with rotor blades of more than 300 meters in diameter. Gladding-Hearn Refitting Ferry for Government of Bermuda

The Government of Bermuda’s Marine and Port Services has chosen Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation, to undertake a major refit of the 700-passenger ferry Bermudian. Built in 1988, the 118’ steel vessel completed the 635-mile crossing of the North Atlantic, arriving at the Somerset, Mass. shipyard, this week. Case Marine Acquires Assets of Marine Industries Corp

Memphis. Ind.-based marine parts and supplies company Case Marine Inc. has acquired the inventory assets of Marine Industries Corp. based in Jeffersonville, Ind. The deal was finalized in June 2021.According to Case Marine's president, Dave Case, included in the acquisition are inventory assets such as engine and steering controls, cutless bearings, gauges, navigation lights and bulbs, searchlights, life jackets and other safety equipment."Marine Industries Corp. is a leader in the commercial Marine Supply market," Case said.

C&C Delivers New Towboat to Parker Towing

C&C Marine and Repair has delivered the new towboat Olive Parker to Parker Towing Company. The vessel is the first the Belle Chasse, La. shipbuilder has built for the Tuscaloosa, Ala. based company.The 4,400-horsepower towboat measures 147.5’ x 34’ x 10’-9” with the pilot house eyeline measuring at 33’. C&C Delivers New Towboat to Maritime Partners

Belle Chasse, La. shipyard C&C Marine and Repair, LLC said it has delivered Ned Brooks, the fourth in series of 15 towboats for Metairie, La.-based Maritime Partners, LLC.The 2,600-horsepowered, 84- by 34-foot towboat was designed by Entech Design, LLC, based in Kenner, La., with the 3D modeling and production drawings done by C&C Marine and Repair’s in-house engineering department. The design includes two Cummins QSK38-M1 main engines, provided by Cummins Mid-South, that are paired to two Reintjes WAF 665 reduction gears, provided by Karl Senner, LLC.

Damen has delivered a Cutter Suction Dredger 450 to Vesirakennus Ojanen Oy in Finland. This is the first time a Damen Cutter Suction Dredger has been deployed in the Scandinavian market. Nauta Launches Danish Fishing Trawler

Polish shipyard Nauta Shiprepair Yard launched a partially outfitted fishing vessel for the Dannish client Karstensens Skibsvaerft AS on March 31. Once completed, the new trawler M/V Aine will operate in thw North Sea for its final owner Aine Fishing Company Ltd from Ireland. Like other units of this type, Aine will be equipped with tanks for transporting live fish and modern technical solutions and fishing devices. The vessel’s maximum speed will be 15 knots. Pelagic trawlers use a method of fishing that involves pulling trawl through the water.

IMTRA Unveils Clite2

IMTRA announced today its new high-output LED searchlight – the Colorlight CLite2. The Colorlight CLite2LED Searchlightfrom IMTRA is the first compact, high-output LED searchlight that provides full movement on both the X- and Y-axis for unlimited rotation with no hard stops. Oil and gas—and also mining—are the drivers today propelling Arctic maritime operations and the construction of new vessels able to operate in extreme latitudes. While the gas and oil resources can be recovered in the Arctic or far north and shipped to markets by sea or pipeline, the cost of doing must be balanced upon the global market price for those commodities. Ships and marine structures able to operate in the harsh conditions of the extreme latitudes require special designs and construction techniques.
