Damen Rolls Out Fast Crew Suppliers 2710 and 1204

Damen showed two new Fast Crew Supply vessels to the world for the first time on the 3rd of July at the 2018 Seawork International Exhibition and Conference, currently underway in Southampton, UK. The FCS 2710 and FCS 1204 received their first public viewings and the naming ceremony for the FCS 2710 was also held on the opening day of the show. Featuring the latest advancements in waterjet propulsion, the X Series is the culmination of precision engineering and years of experience creating stainless steel mixed flow propulsion solutions. Norsafe Launches New Fast Rescue and Patrol Boat at Seawork

Norsafe has carried out extensive research and development in the last few years to develop a new range of robust and safe boats for the Military and Professional market. Using the experience gained from the closed cabin 1200 and S1200 in the Munin range, an open version is now ready for sea trials and will be launched at Seawork International on July 3-5 in Southampton, UK. The latest boat has already been tested by Norsafe’s engineers together with user groups representing the coast guard, maritime police, customs and special forces. MJP to Unveil New Waterjets at SeaWork

Waterjet propulsion specialist Marine Jet Power (MJP) said its plans to roll out its new X Series range of waterjets at the upcoming SeaWork Exhibition.MJP said the new range of waterjets capitalize on its duplex steel product line by offering an efficient, durable product at a much lower price point. Additionally, the new jets have been designed for easy installation, maintainability in the field and feature advancements in steering and maneuverability with improved reversing and stopping characteristics.“The X Series is the result of the ambition to create the highest performing, most efficient waterjet on the market,” said Magnus Sörenson, MJP CEO.

New Controls, Display Systems for CXO300 Outboard

British company Cox Powertrain said it will announce two exclusive new partnerships at this year’s Seawork International and showcase the engine control and display systems that have been chosen for the company’s high powered diesel outboard engine, the CXO300, ahead of its launch next year. Italian controls specialist Xenta Systems has been chosen to supply the engine controls system, which incorporates the joystick, throttle for the CXO300. Murphy by Enovation Controls will supply its new PowerView1200 display screen offering full-featured engine diagnostics on a powerful display screen.

Voith Linear Jet Offers Fuel Savings

Crew transfer vessel operators using the new Voith Linear Jet (VLJ) marine propulsion system can save over £75,000 in fuel costs in a season, the manufacturer claims. The cost saving, around 20 percent, is a key figure from the collection of extensive data from four months’ operation in a range of sea conditions, working at different speeds and with different loadings. The Voith Linear Jet, unveiled last year as a “world first” in marine propulsion technology, combines elements of two existing technologies: conventional screw propellers and water jets.

Torqeedo to Showcase Cruise Engine at Seawork

Torqeedo will debut its innovative new electric motor at this year’s Seawork International. The new generation, the Cruise 10.0R, is equivalent to a 20HP combustion engine. It boasts 12kW peak power, 10kW continuous power and a voltage level of 48V to deliver impressive, emission-free performance at speeds of up to 17.2knots (31.9km/h). The Cruise 10.0R weighs 47.2kg in its smallest variation and features a powered tilt function, alongside a maximum RPM standing at 1,400RPM, and 315lbs of static thrust.

Blyth Workcats Wins ABP Survey Boat Contract

At the Seawork International Exhibition in Southampton, Blyth Workcats Ltd announced that Associated British Ports (ABP) has awarded it the contract for a new 14-metre survey vessel to be built at the company’s yard on Canvey Island, Essex, UK. The new boat will be based on one of Blyth Workcats’ established survey craft models but built to a bespoke design detailed to meet the specific requirements of ABP’s hydrographic surveyors. The vessel will be based in Hull and used for survey operations throughout the Rivers Humber, Ouse and Trent, covering the ports of Hull, Goole, Grimsby and Immingham. ABP’s four Humber ports together handle more than 65 million tonnes of cargo annually.

Mainstay Marine Looks Ahead Following Rebrand

South Wales maritime engineering company Mustang Marine has rebranded as Mainstay Marine Solutions. The Pembroke Dock based workboat, marine energy device and waterside infrastructure specialist has adopted a new name and corporate image following its first year under new ownership. The company, which was bought out of administration in May 2014 by a group of nine investors, said it has thrived under its new ownership and is on course to double its workforce compared to 12 months ago, increasing from 27 employees in June 2014 to 60 today.

New Launches, Demonstrations Set for Seawork
