SIA Appoints Siemens Industry's V-P to the Board
The Security Industry Association (SIA) says it has appointed Rich Cillessen, vice president of enterprise security at Siemens Industry Inc., to its Board of Directors. As vice president of the enterprise security business line, Cillessen is a senior executive with a proven track record of building businesses and delivering outstanding results, during a career spanning more than 15 years in both the domestic and International market. Since 2013, he has led the strategy, vision and sales for Siemens Enterprise Security business. He is responsible for strategic account management for key security clients. “SIA is pleased to welcome Rich Cillessen to its Board of Directors,” said SIA Chairman John Stroia, chief operating officer, The Will-Burt Company.
SIA to Honor Honeywell's Gordon Hope
The Security Industry Association (SIA) says it has chosen Gordon Hope, general manager of Honeywell's AlarmNet communications network, as the 2014 recipient of the George R. Lippert Memorial Award. Hope, who celebrates 25 years with Honeywell this year, joined the company in 1989 when it was Ademco. He began in marketing, with responsibilities including the control panel family. Over time, he added responsibilities, ultimately becoming director of marketing and then vice president of marketing in 2006. As he rose through the ranks of Honeywell, he also served as SIA Chairman from 2009-2011. “With so many deserving peers nominated for the Lippert Award this year, I am particularly honored to receive it,” Hope said.
Undersecretary Reginald Brothers to Keynote SIA Summit
The Security Industry Association (SIA) has apprised that Dr. Reginald Brothers, DHS Undersecretary for Science and Technology, will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming SIA Government Summit in Washington, DC. Dr. Reginald Brothers, the undersecretary for science and technology at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), will make one of his first public speaking appearances since his confirmation at DHS, as a keynote speaker at 9:45 a.m. on June 3, 2014 during the SIA Government Summit at the W Hotel in Washington, D.C. The SIA Government Summit brings together the public and private sectors to discuss legislative and regulatory matters of importance to the security industry.
