Ecochlor Wins BWMS Contract with ATC

Alaskan Tanker Company (ATC) will retrofit the Ecochlor ballast water management system (BWMS) on board their fleet including three VLCC crude oil tankers and an option for one additional vessel. Each of these vessels are U.S. flag tankers with Zone 1 and Zone 0 hazardous areas.The Ecochlor BWMS is approved for installation in both US Flag and International vessels in hazardous areas rated Zone 1 or Zone 0 through their U.S. Coast Guard Type Approval certification. Sembawang Bags Teekay's FSO Conversion Project

Sembcorp Marine’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has secured a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) conversion contract worth S$56 million from Teekay for the Gina Krog Field in the North Sea. Sembawang Shipyard will work closely with Teekay to convert the shuttle tanker Randgrid into an FSO. The yard will also fabricate and install new living quarter decks on the vessel. The ship is expected to arrive at Sembawang Shipyard in June 2015, with completion in 11 months, Sembcorp Marine said. EGS Names RV ‘Geo Resolution’

The EGS management has gathered in Singapore to conduct the christening and blessing ceremony of the RV Geo Resolution, the latest addition to EGS’ fleet of deep water capable hydrographic and geophysical survey vessels, said a press release from the company. The ceremony has taken place at the Sembawang Shipyard, where the vessel was equipped and readied for her forthcoming survey duties. EGS purchased the 68m long RV Geo Resolution (formerly HMNZS Resolution) from the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) in October 2014. During her service in New Zealand, the vessel was the RNZN's principal hydrographic survey ship conducting surveying and charting on behalf of the New Zealand Navy.

Bureau Veritas to Class, Certify FPSOs for Saipem

Bureau Veritas has been awarded a contract by Saipem to provide classification and certification services for the two Kaombo FPSOs for service off Angola. The $4 billion project for the FPSOs was awarded to Saipem by Total for the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of two converted turret-moored Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSOs) for the Kaombo Field Development Project, located in Block 32, offshore Angola. Sembawang Shipyard to Convert 2 FPSOs for Kaombo Project, Angola

Sembcorp Marine’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has secured a Floating Storage Production Offloading (FPSO) conversion contract worth about S$600 million from Saipem SA, France for the conversion of Two FPSOs for the Kaombo Project in Offshore Angola. Sembawang Shipyard was awarded this milestone contract on the strength of its capabilities and established track record in the field of FPSO conversion, modification and upgrading work. Under the contract, the Shipyard is responsible for the conversion of 2 Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) sister ships into 2 turret-moored FPSOs for the Kaombo project located in offshore Angola, approximately 150 km from the coast.

SEMBCORP MARINE’S SEMBAWANG SHIPYARD TO REVITALISE 'VOYAGER OF THE SEAS'

Australia’s Largest Research Vessel Ready for Launch

Australia’s new research vessel, Investigator

At the end of 2013, the team of Sembawang Shipyard of Singapore and Teekay Shipping Australia will hand over the new scientific Research Vessel Investigator to her owners, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), an agency of the Federal Government of Australia. The Investigator will be among the most capable and quietest non-naval research vessels in the world. It will serve Australia in diverse scientific operations ranging over an area from the equator to the ice shelf of Antarctica and spanning almost 1/3rd of the circumference of the globe.

Austal in Sembawang Shipyard Strategic Alliance

Austal, & Singapore's Sembawang Shipyard enter strategic partnership to provide ship repair, maintenance, for US Navy ships. Austal and Sembawang Shipyard believe the partnership provides an important resource to the US Navy and other defence forces operating in Asia-Pacific. Austal and Sembawang Shipyard will together provide rapid, high quality support specifically tailored to the US Navy’s fleet of Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) and Joint High Speed Vessels (JHSV), both of which are expected to operate in the region. The first LCS is expected to deploy to Singapore in early 2013. Austal is currently contracted to build ten 103-metre JHSVs under a US$1.6 billion contract and six 127-metre LCSs, four of which are a part of a 10-ship, US$3.5 billion contract.

Sembcorp's Sembawang Shipyard gets ship repair Favoured Customer Contract (FCC) from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL). The contract, signed in Miami, Florida, USA, by Mr. Kevin Douglas, Vice President of Technical Projects and Newbuildings for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Mr. Svein Taklo, Vice President, Marine Operations for Royal Caribbean International, and Ms. Wong Lee- Lin, Executive Director, Sembawang Shipyard, commits the repairs, revitalisation and upgrading of its fleet of passenger ships cruising in the Singapore region to Sembawang Shipyard. Austal Appoints Regional Service Manager

Austal has announced that Michael Little has joined Austal as Regional Service Manager - Asia. Based in Singapore, Mr. Little will be responsible for Austal’s support offering in Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines and for developing relationships in the broader region. Mr. Little has considerable experience in the Asia-Pacific ship repair industry and direct expertise supporting US Navy operations in the region. Sembawang Shipyard Secures 3 LNG Repair Contracts

The first contract awarded by Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção S.A calls for he major repairs and upgrading of the 20-year- old FSO Palanca.Major work scope includes the renewal of the vessel’s cargo piping system and pumps, tank blasting and coating, and cables renewal for the entire electrical system. The existing 30-men accommodation block will be re- designed and rebuilt to accommodate 60 men. The new accommodation block will include a new helideck to meet the vessel’s operational requirements. The vessel is expected to enter Sembawang Shipyard in August 2012 and, upon completion, will return to Palanca Terminal in offshore Angola. In addition has been awarded tow LNG carrier life extension projects by North West Shelf Shipping Service Company, Australia (NWSSSC).

Copland Events report that the 6th MTB Marine Europe forum being held in Copenhagen is now fully booked. Over 100 buyers are registered, from all over Europe, to join the forum in October 2012 to participate in two and a half days of face-to-face meetings and networking with suppliers worldwide. Copland Events have already registered over 100 Buyers, responsible for a total of over 3500 vessels to join us. Including companies such as:- Maersk, Torm A/S, Vroon, and V. Ships, as well as Disney Cruise Lines, Gearbulk Norway and RCL Cruises who are joining MTB Marine for the first time. Imtech Completes Three Offshore Ships

Imtech Marine, specialized in system integration, successfully completed three innovative new-build vessel projects in Singapore; Seven Borealis for Subsea 7, Rockpiper for a subsidiary of Royal Boskalis Westminster NV and Flintstone for Tideway, part of the DEME Group. The ships will all operate in the oil and gas market. Imtech Marine has combined specific capabilities of its offices in Rotterdam, Shanghai and Singapore. The supply package for two of the three ships includes advanced dynamic positioning (DP), diesel electric propulsion, vessel management (VMS), automation, navigation and communication. The design and engineering was done in Rotterdam, production in Shanghai and installation & commissioning by the Imtech Marine team in Singapore.

Imtech Marine has successfully completed three innovative new-build vessel projects in Singapore; Seven Borealis for Subsea 7, Rockpiper for a subsidiary of Royal Boskalis Westminster NV and Flintstone for Tideway, part of the DEME Group. The ships will all operate in the oil and gas market. The supply package for two of the three ships includes advanced dynamic positioning (DP), diesel electric propulsion, vessel management (VMS), automation, navigation and communication. The design and engineering was done in Rotterdam, production in Shanghai and installation & commissioning by the Imtech Marine team in Singapore. Seven Borealis is a DP pipe laying and heavy lift (5,000-ton) construction vessel, built for Subsea 7 at the Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore.

Cruise Ship Emerges from Shipyard Virtually New Say Owners

After a month-long $54 million dry dock, Royal Caribbean International's cruise ship Rhapsody of the Seas has emerged from Singapore's Sembawang Shipyard (a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine Ltd.) as a virtually new ship say the owners. The newly refurbished liner will have a host of new dining options, visual entertainment and  amenities following this bow-to-stern transformation. Singapore's Sembawang Dockyard takes on month-long refit to Rhapsody of tne Seas.   Royal Caribbean International's Rhapsody of the Seas today entered Sembawang Shipyard (a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine Ltd.) in Singapore to begin a month-long, $54 million drydocking, where she will undergo a major revitalization and emerge with an array of new amenities. The ship revitalization is the largest of its kind ever to take place in Singapore and will employ more than 800 local workers from the region.

Record Contract Awarded to Rapp Hydema

Rapp Hydema and Triplex were awarded a record-sized deck machinery contract for Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Research Organization (CSIRO). CSIRO selected Teekay Holdings Australia and Sembawang Shipyard Pte Ltd. to carry out  the design, build and commissioning of the vessel. Sembawang and Teekay appointed RALion (a joint-venture between Alion Science and Robert Allan LTD) to carry out the vessel basic design. The new vessel, named the Investigator, is scheduled for mid-2013 delivery. The consolidated deck and handling machinery package is due for delivery in 3Q 2012.

Sembawang Signed Memorandum Of Agreement With Ecospec

Huisman Transports, Installs 5,000mt Crane

In March, Huisman, a Dutch-based specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, installed what it calls the world’s largest Offshore Mast Crane onboard the Seven Borealis. This crane installation is  considered as the heaviest and logistically most complex conducted by Huisman to date. After final load testing, Seven Borealis will depart for the Huisman production facility in Schiedam where a complete 600mt S-lay system will be finalized. Transport and installation of the crane were performed under the responsibility of Huisman.

RALion Contract For Australian Research Vessel

RALion, a Joint Venture between Robert Allan Ltd. of Vancouver, B.C., Alion Science and Technology Corporation of McLean, Virginia, and Alion Science and Technology (Canada) Corporation of Kanata, Ontario, has just been awarded a contract to design a new Research Vessel for the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), an agency of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia. The contract has been awarded by Sembawang Shipyard Pte. Ltd. of Singapore who will build the vessel under contract to Teekay Holding Australia Pty. Ltd. (as Project Managers). Deltamarin Wins Contract from Petrobras

The Brazilian oil company Petrobras has awarded the Finnish engineering company Deltamarin Ltd the concept study work for their FPDSO development. The contract contains concept design development. "Deltamarin won this contract because we have a very recent reference in this field namely FPDSO 'Dynamic Producer' for Petroserv, which is now under construction in Singapore at Sembawang Shipyard. Petroserv has a service agreement with Petrobras for Dynamic Producer," said Timo Granberg, Sales Director Offshore at Deltamarin. The vessel is to be designed as a DP EWT/EPS vessel for the Brazilian Ultra Deepwater Offshore Oilfields. (www.deltamarin.com)
