OPTION Attracts New Partner for Oil Recovery

OPTION (Optimizing Oil Production by Novel Technology Integration) aims to significantly improve simulation tools for the prediction and control of the flow between the horizontal wells and the reservoir – with a focus on enhancing oil recovery. As part of their investment in the project, DONG Energy will contribute with the complete subsurface dataset from the Siri and Stine fields, located in the Danish sector of the North Sea. Dr Michael Kragh Engkilde, Subsurface Manager of Siri Asset at DONG Energy says: “With our ambition to extend the life of the Siri Area, we are continually investigating opportunities for enhancing production. The joint industry project breeds a close link between industry and academia and as such helps to progress research exploitation and knowledge transfer.

Senergy Marks Major Business First Agreement

Fast-growing global energy services company Senergy has marked a business first after being awarded a framework agreement to provide geotechnical representatives on behalf of a client and its site investigation work. The agreement, which has been secured through Senergy’s survey and geo-engineering division, is with Statoil ASA for its projects in the Norwegian Continental Shelf. It will involve the supply of Senergy geotechnical personnel acting as a client representative for site investigations to underpin Statoil procedures, ensuring technical and HSE assurance.

Senergy Makes Several Shifts in Senior Management

Energy services company Senergy added a number of appointments to its senior management team with to consolidate its position for future growth. The company, which provides fully-integrated project and asset development services across the energy industry, anticipates creating up to 80 new positions by the end of May, as a result of increasing demand for its services. Senergy Appoints Director to Leadership Team

Senergy Development Solutions (SDS), which specializes in oil and gas facilities engineering and total project delivery, has positioned itself to harness the increasing market demand for its services by appointing a third director to its leadership team. Rob Fisher joins fellow directors Murray Douglas and Stuart McAuley at SDS, which is part of global energy services company Senergy. He will underpin and lead SDS’s subsea, pipeline and construction management business and further build on the company’s track record in engineering and project management.

Gulf O&G Tech Collaboration Debated

More than 30 oil and gas organisztions in the Middle East will gather to discuss the opportunities and challenges of collaborating on technology development in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council). The event, organised by ITF, the technology facilitator for the global oil and gas industry and  sponsored by Kuwait Oil Company, will take place in Abu Dhabi on Monday February 27. ITF, a membership organization of international oil and gas operator and service companies, is  encouraging companies in the GCC to focus on the need for collaborative oil and gas technology funding and agree commitment to drive forward with a strategy for the region. Neil Poxon, managing director of ITF will outline the benefits of driving new groundbreaking technologies through joint industry projects.
