Neptune Awards Vessel Services Deal to Sentinel Marine

Neptune Energy on Wednesday announced the award of a £10 million three-year vessel services contract to Sentinel Marine, to provide offshore support for its operated Cygnus gas field in the U.K. southern North Sea.The contract, awarded following a competitive tendering process, will see Sentinel Marine continue to deploy its multi role, emergency response and rescue (MRERR) vessel Cygnus Sentinel on the gas field. The vessel will also support an upcoming drilling campaign on the Cygnus field.

Sentinel Marine Expands Fleet

Offshore support vessel operator Sentinel Marine has introduced the newest fleet of emergency response and rescue vessels in the North Sea – and help clean up the offshore environment.All eight ships recently built to order by Sentinel Marine – and the four still under various stages of construction – have Tier 4 compliant engines which reduce emissions of particulate matter and noxious gases to near zero levels.Sentinel Marine chief executive officer Rory Deans said: “Tier 4 engines reduce emissions by around 86% compared to other types of engines used in the marine environment.“Our fleet is currently one of very few in the North Sea to utilise Tier 4 engines.

Sentinel Marine Adds Three New Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels

UK-based offshore support firm Sentinel Marine has announced that it will create 80 new jobs by adding three multi-role ships to its fast-growing fleet.The Aberdeen-based firm is investing in the region of GBP36 million in the trio of new builds, which will come into service by the end of 2020.The offshore support vessel specialist said that the ships - Cromarty Sentinel, Trafalgar Sentinel and Viking Sentinel – are an enhanced version of the emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRV) which Sentinel Marine has introduced in the North Sea over the past four years.The ships are primarily used for the safety of offshore personnel, but their ability to perform secondary roles such as oil recovery…

Sentinel Marine Adds a Secondhand PSV

Aberdeen-based offshore support vessel operator Sentinel Marine said it has purchased a multi-role ship from a Canadian seller.The 1997-built Scotian Sentinel (formerly Scotian Sea) is currently in dry-dock for upgrades and is expected to enter service in November as a Group A combined platform supply and emergency response and rescue vessel (PSV/ERRV).The addition comes as Sentinel is nearing the end of a nine-vessel newbuild program. The series’ eighth vessel, Chinese-built Bailey Sentinel, recently commenced operations in the U.K.

New Rescue Vessel Delivered to Sentinel Marine

Aberdeen-headquartered operators of offshore support vessels Sentinel Marine said it has taken delivery of the latest vessel to join its fleet. The Bailey Sentinel, constructed in China, is now en route to Aberdeen and is due to arrive in early September. The new emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) will operate rescue and recovery services for a major North Sea oil field operator following sea trials. The vessel is the eighth new build to join the expanding Sentinel Marine fleet since 2015. One further new vessel is set to be delivered in the first quarter of 2019.

Aberdeen headquartered Sentinel Marine said it has taken delivery of the latest in its fleet of multi-role emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs). Biscay Sentinel was delivered at the Cosco Guangzhou shipyard in China this month and is expected to arrive in Aberdeen in early May. She will immediately join Sentinel Marine’s fleet of ERRVs providing support and lifesaving services to the oil and gas industry in the North Sea. Torqeedo Partners with Sentinel Marine Solutions and WhisperPower

Torqeedo has announced strategic agreements to integrate Sentinel Boat Monitors and WhisperPower smart power generation systems into its electric boat propulsion product offerings. The announcements were made in a press conference at the Dusseldorf International Boat Show Jan. 23. The Sentinel Boat Monitors are now fully integrated with Torqeedo’s Cruise, Travel and Ultralight electric propulsion systems. The Sentinel app allows remote monitoring of the vessel’s location and onboard systems, and provides automatic alerts of any malfunctions and alarms.

Sentinel Awarded Contract for Patrol Vessel Charter

Aberdeen-based Sentinel Marine has been awarded a contract to provide a patrol vessel to be chartered by the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) in international and EU waters. Lundy Sentinel is one of the firm’s growing fleet of new built multi-role emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs). The contract to charter the Lundy Sentinel is for an initial period of two years, with an option to extend for a further two years. The framework contract provides for a maximum amount of 20m Euros in four years. It was awarded following tender.

A new multi-role emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) built by Aberdeen-based Sentinel Martine as part of a £110 million ($145 million) investment has been deployed to operations in the southern North Sea. Forties Sentinel was officially named at a ceremony in Great Yarmouth. Forties Sentinel has been contracted to INEOS Breagh to provide support for the firm’s production facilities in the Breagh gas field. INEOS has also chartered a second ERRV from the Sentinel Marine fleet – Sentinel Ranger – for the field.

Sentinel Marine’s New Rescue Vessel Christened

Sentinel Marine’s latest new-build emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) has been deployed to service in the North Sea after being christened at Aberdeen Harbor. The new vessel, Mariner Sentinel, is operating on behalf of Statoil at its Mariner field to the east of Shetland – the sixth of nine vessels to join the firm’s fleet since 2015. Statoil’s Aberdeen-based offshore logistics and services supervisor, Line Kaldestad, officially named Mariner Sentinel in her role as the ship’s godmother.

Sentinel Marine Secures Two New Contracts

Sentinel Marine said it has secured two new contracts bringing the Aberdeen-headquartered firm’s contract wins to a total of £26.4 million ($34.4 million) since January this year. The latest contract wins will provide continued employment for 72 seafarers in the North Sea. Sentinel Marine’s contract with Statoil UK Limited will see the provision of an emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) Portland Sentinel in the energy producer’s Mariner field from the beginning of August. The Portland Sentinel will join Mariner Sentinel, the latest vessel to join the Sentinel Marine fleet.

Sentinel Takes Delivery of New Rescue Vessel

Aberdeen-headquartered Sentinel Marine said it has taken delivery of a new emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) which will see 24 new jobs being created within its North Sea operation. Sentinel Marine, which owns and operates offshore support vessels for the oil and gas industry, has secured a contract for the Mariner Sentinel with a major producer for its North Sea oil field. Following construction in China, the vessel is en route to Aberdeen and is expected to commence operating in July 2017. Mariner Sentinel is the latest of six new build for Sentinel Marine since 2015.

MacGregor's Deck Machinery for Sentinel Marine ERRV

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, will supply deck machinery for a new 65m emergency rescue & response vessel (ERRV) for Sentinel Marine. The ship has been designed by Focal Marine & Offshore Pte Ltd and will have a bollard pull of 100 tonnes of FOCAL 552. The order for the complete MacGregor anchor handling solution was booked into the third quarter 2015 order intake. MacGregor will supply a complete deck machinery package including a 200-tonne line pull / 300-tonne brake holding anchor handling towing winch, complete with a hydraulic spooling device, as well as Triplex shark jaws and guide pins. "MacGregor products were chosen because of their high quality and the company's worldwide service capabilities," notes Mr. Yaw Chee Keat, Shiptype Sales Manager, MacGregor Offshore Deck Machinery.

Sentinel Orders ERRV at Cosco Guandong

China's COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard has secured a contract from Aberdeen-based Sentinel Marine to build a TAERRV (Tanker Assist / Emergency Response / Rescue / Field Support Vessel). Cosco says the vessel’s expected delivery date is in the first quarter of 2017. Sentinel Marine has an option to order an additional TAERRV within six months. The shipbuilder and the client have agreed to keep the contract price confidential and the contract includes an option for a second vessel. According to a press release by the yard, COSCO Guangdong and Sentinel Marine have agreed to keep the contract price confidential. The announcement comes as Cosco Shipyard urges cooperation between yards and rig owners during the offshore market's current downturn.

Statoil Orders Emergency Vessel

Statoil (U.K.) Limited has awarded a contract to Sentinel Marine Limited to provide a new multi role Emergency Response & Rescue Vessel (ERRV) to support operations on the Mariner field on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). Sentinel Marine is an Aberdeen-based company, owning and operating offshore support vessels in the oil and gas marine industry. The new 65 metre ship, to be named “Mariner Sentinel”, will be custom built for Statoil and provide emergency cover, oil spill response preparedness and tanker assist capabilities for the Mariner field. The ERRV contract with Sentinel Marine has a fixed duration of five years, commencing in July 2016, and also includes five one-year extension options.

Palfinger Secures Follow-up Order from Sentinel

Palfinger Boats, Palfinger Ned-Deck and their partner Outreach Ltd. have secured a follow-up order from Sentinel Marine Ltd. The delivery of Sentinel Marine Ltd's fast rescue and aluminum daughter crafts order for four emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs), led to the company's announced letter of intent (LOI) for Outreach to be involved in the sale of an additional four ERRV ship sets. Both davits from Palfinger Ned-Deck are fitted with a wave compensation system enabling safe launching and recovery in the extreme conditions of the North Sea.

Sentinel Marine Orders Four ERRV's

Sentinel Marine orders four multi-role offshore support Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels ERRV’s from Nam Cheong. The new vessels will feature Dynamic Positioning systems, redundancy of propulsion and thruster systems, cargo carrying capabilities and advanced rescue and recovery equipment. Designed to work in the North Sea; one of the harshest environments in the world, particular attention has been placed on sea-keeping, crew comfort and fuel efficiency. The vessels will deliver through Q3&Q4 2014 and there are options for a further four vessels included in the contract. With offices in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Singapore, Sentinel Marine presently has 2 AHTS and 5 PSV’s on order in addition to this latest order.

Sentinel Marine Sell AHTS, Order Two More

Sentinel sell new-build Anchor Handling Towing & Supply vessels AHTS 5150;  order two more AHTS from Nam Cheong Dockyard. Buyers of the AHTS 5150, Hull SK 67, have requested the details of the sale to remain private. The newly ordered AHTS vessels will be built in Fujian South East Shipyard, China, with deliveries between Q3 – Q4 2013. These AHTS vessels are based on the proven Khiam Chuan Marine design, with the added stern thruster providing improved station keeping. The company has its roots in a Company called Nomis Shipping, which was established in 1989. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland. In its early days the company was engaged in owning and managing a fleet of Emergency Response & Rescue Vessels (ERRV).

London Club Achieves Income Targets

The London P&I Club achieved its premium income targets during the renewal negotiations completed on February 20. It now has a total fleet entry of more than 30 million gross tons, covering all categories of membership. Major new entries in the Club included fourteen bulk carriers operated by Petros Pappas' Sentinel Marine Services in Greece. additional vessels with the Club. As in previous years, the Club declined to insure a significant amount of tonnage which did not meet its stringent quality requirements. The London Club has traditionally pursued a policy of selective, quality expansion and strategic investment. For the period between February 1997 and February 2001, it enjoyed the best average investment return of all clubs in the International Group of P&I Clubs.
