ABB and Norwegian Cruise Line Solidify Long-Term Partnership

Long-term Contracts with Petrobras for Subsea 7 PLSV Trio

Subsea 7 has announced a very large award by Petrobras for new long-term day-rate contracts for the pipelay support vessels (PLSV) Seven Waves, Seven Rio and Seven Sun.The offshore installation services firm said Tuesday that the contracts were worth between $500 million and $750 million in total.Each contract comprises a firm three-year period and a subsequent one-year option. Three cruise ships will idle at the Port of Oakland without passengers while cruise operations are suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, the port said Friday. The .Two Norwegian Cruise Line vessels, Regatta and Norwegian Jewel, have tied up at Oakland’s Outer Harbor Terminal, which is currently not in use for the port’s container shipping business. Another, Seven Seas Mariner, is docked at Howard Terminal on the Oakland Estuary, no longer considered large enough for container operations.

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri announced it has delivered Seven Seas Splendor for US-based Regent Seven Seas Cruises.The Ancona-built ultra-luxury cruise ship is the second Fincaantieri has delivered for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a Norwegian Cruise Line brand. The newbuild is the fifth-all-suite vessel in Regent’s fleet.Like sister ship Seven Seas Explorer, delivered by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente (Genova) shipyard in 2016, Seven Seas Splendor is 55,000 gross tons, 224 meters long and is able to accommodate 750 passengers on board in 375 suites all including private balconies.

Fincantieri Launches Seven Seas Splendor

Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) launched its second extra-luxury cruise ship Seven Seas Splendor at the Ancona plant of Fincantieri. RSSC is brand of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NCLH) group.According to a press note from the Italian shipbuilding company, the delivery of Seven Seas Splendor, the sister ship to Seven Seas Explorer,  is scheduled for 2020.Like her sister ship Seven Seas Explorer, delivered by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente (Genova) shipyard in 2016, “Seven Seas Splendor” will be 55,000 gross tonnes with accommodation for 750 passengers. Last January Fincantieri has received an order from NCLH for a third unit of the series, which will be delivered in 2023.The construction process will implement the latest environmental-friendly technologies.

Shipbuilding: Fincantieri signs $542M Cruise Ship Deal

Positive momentum in the cruise sector continues, as Fincantieri signed a $543M contract with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.  for the construction of one new ultra-luxury cruise ship for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand to be delivered in 2023.The new vessel will be a sister ship to “Seven Seas Explorer”, which took the sea in 2016, and to “Seven Seas Splendor”, due to delivery in 2020. With about 54,000 tons, the unit will be able to accommodate up to 750 guests on board and she will be the brand’s sixth-all-suite vessel in Regent’s fleet. Panama Canal to Receive 234 Cruise Ships this Season

A cruise ship passenger who went overboard near the Strait of Juan de Fuca has been pronounced dead.The U.S. Coast Guard said the 73-year-old male was unresponsive when he was recovered by a helicopter rescue crew from the water near the west coast Canada/U.S. border.The overboard passenger was transferred to local Emergency Medical Service personnel waiting on shore and then to the Olympic Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound Command…

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has held a keel laying ceremony for Seven Seas Splendor, the second cruise ship being built for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a brand of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. The ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard on June 28, 2018. The delivery is scheduled for 2020. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Jason Montague, President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, who was welcomed by Giovanni Stecconi, the Fincantieri Ancona yard manager. First Steel Cut for Seven Seas Splendor

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri held a steel cutting ceremony in Ancona marking the official start of construction on Seven Seas Splendor, a new ultra-luxury cruise ship for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings brand Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The new vessel is scheduled to be delivered in early 2020, following Seven Seas Explorer delivered by the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Genoa in June 2017. The 55,500-gross-ton Seven Seas Splendor will be 224 meters long and accommodate 754 passengers on board in 375 spacious suites.
