Seaward Marine Adds New Tug Dock

Norfolk, Va.-based marine services company Seaward Marine Corporation has added a new 260-foot workboat pier to accommodate its seven-boat fleet of tow and tug vessels in Chesapeake, Va.The pontoons for the Seaward Marine project were made in SF Marina Systems' Norfolk, Virginia production facility and towed by water to the installation location. Floating Pier Provides Flexibility for Donsö Harbor Project

SF Marina has built pontoons and floating breakwaters internationally for a range of bespoke marinas designed to suit local conditions worldwide, from a fishing station in the north of Iceland to the sunny but continually storm-hit Caribbean. Concrete Floating Docks Delivered to Boston FD

As a part of a waterfront upgrade project at the Boston Fire Dept Burroughs Wharf Station, a floating dock system of Type 1200 concrete floating docks manufactured by SF Marina Systems USA was delivered. The Type 1200 system was design to withstand the vessel loads and wave action of the exposed Boston harbor location. Mega Dock for Tug and Super Yacht Berthing

SF Marina Systems supplied a large two piece tug berth, designed for vessels up to 1,100 tons. The berth measures 150 x 32 ft. with a freeboard of 5 ft. The units were cast in SF Marina’s Factory in Walham Sweden, each  weighing more than 240 metric tons. The high loading of the Pier can accommodate  truck traffic, and features such as cranes, and fueling systems integrated into the design. The standard units can be shipped world wide and moored with a variety of anchoring systems with infinite lengths. The concrete structures are targeting the large tugboat and super yacht markets.

Kroli Wins New Contracts

Kroli, SF Marina's distributor in Iceland, has entered into an agreement with Loftorku Borgarnesi to manufacture SF Marina's signature floating concrete docks. The strategic move to manufacture locally has created significantly more business for Kroli. Shortly after the Kroli/Loftorka agreement was signed, a committee representing the capital of Iceland announced that Kroli had won the contract for three installations in the Reykjavik and Akranes harbors. Kroli provided a total of nearly 600' of docks from Loftorku, as well as 45 mooring arms, electric pedestals and Seaflex mooring. Nordurbugt, in the old Reykjavik harbor, was fitted with 328' of SF 1035 pontoons, including a center coupling at a T-connection, ducts for utility pedestals, 26' steel fingers and Seaflex mooring.

SF Marina Builds Breakwaters in Harsh Seas

Norway is known for its harsh winter storms. When Skjærhalden Båtforening needed to expand its marina, it was forced to move outside the fixed breakwater and face up to 5 ft waves. SF Marina USA's Norwegian partner SF Pontona Norge AS was willing to install a harbor at this exposed location. Providing mooring space for 130 more boats, SF Pontona employed SF Marina USA SF 400 Concrete Breakwaters, as well as SF 1030 and SF 1024 Concrete Docks.
