Schat-Harding Delivers Chinese Patrol Boat

Schat-Harding has expanded production at its Chinese plant to build the first of a series of new design high-speed patrol boats. The first 10 m UP1000 patrol boat can reach 32 knots and was delivered during March to Shan Dong Maritime Safety Administration for use in coastal patrol work. Designed in China and powered by twin Volvo diesels, the UP1000’s glass-fibre twin hull and double knuckle configuration can be fitted for engine options giving up to 45 knots top speed. Over Roessland, managing director of Umoe Schat-Harding Ltd and Hans Gustav Mussland, general manager of Umoe Schat-Harding (Qingdao) Ltd handed the vessel over to MSA director Zhang Baochen and vice-director Qu Qiwen at a ceremony in Qingdao.
