BV Approves Braemar’s LNG Containment System

Braemar Technical Services announced that Bureau Veritas (BV) has issued a General Design Approval for the FSP Type B LNG Containment System (FSP). Starting with the General Dynamics NASSCO-patented tank design, for which the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Lloyd’s Register had issued Approval in Principle (AiP) several years prior, Braemar engineered a new and improved containment system that meets the demands of LNG storage in marine, offshore and onshore applications.

McClain Appointed MD of Braemar Engineering

Braemar Named Engineers for Brownsville LNG Project

Braemar Engineering, the marine and LNG technical consultancy arm of the Braemar Shipping Services PLC group, has been appointed as Owner’s Engineers by Texas LNG Brownsville LLC (Texas LNG) for the proposed Brownsville LNG project. The project will be constructed in a deepwater frontage site along the Port of Brownsville shipping channel, South Texas, and is anticipated to export more than 2 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG, with the first shipments planned for export in 2019.

Braemar Engineering Announce One Stop Shop for LNG Fueliing

Braemar Engineering, the marine engineering consultancy arm within the Braemar Shipping Services Group, has launched a new venture which recognizes the growing importance of LNG as a global maritime fuel source. It will be taking its experience and skills in dynamic positioning (DP), LNG in the marine environment, and LNG supply, and applying them to a new operation that will advise on every aspect of the use of LNG as a fuel source in the offshore sector. “This venture is a logical extension for us,” said Geoff Green, Managing Director of Braemar Engineering (formerly Wavespec).
