ZF Extends Range of Hybrid-ready Transmissions

ZF Marine Friedrichshafen AG, the marine propulsion systems division of the ZF Group introduced the ZF 3300 PTI transmission at SMM 2014. With the launch of the ZF 3300 PTI, ZF Marine Propulsion Systems expands its product offering in it hybrid-ready product portfolio. Designed to be powered through standard diesel engine input, or via alternate power source through a Power Take In (PTI), this new transmission brings a hybrid-ready solution suitable for all types of high speed pleasure and commercial applications.

Clariant & Siemens To Promote New Sour Gas Shift Technology

Siemens Energy and Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, signed an agreement to cooperate in the commercialization of a new, jointly developed sour gas shift (SGS) technology for coal gasification. The agreement appoints Clariant as the exclusive catalyst supplier for all projects where Siemens offers sour gas shift ("SGS") systems. While the collaboration covers all global projects, commercialization will focus on China – the region with the highest growth rate of coal-to-chemical projects. Stefan Heuser, Head of the Catalysts Business Unit at Clariant, stated: "This global cooperation is a very important step in marketing our innovative catalysts for coal-to-chemical applications.

Livorsi Obtains License From Mercury Marine

Livorsi Marine Inc. has obtained a license from Mercury Marine which allows the company to combine Digital Throttle and Shift technology (DTS) with the options and quality of Livorsi controls. These controls provide precise control of a boat using Smartcraft ® DTS technology, which enables smooth and safe shifting. Direct drive of throttle position sensors results in faster response times. . These controls are designed to work on all Mercury I/O, OB and Cummins DTS engines. Single, twin triple and quad configurations are available in a variety of styles and colors.
