Roll Group Adds Two Ships

Roll Group will add two vessels from the global logistics company, KMC Line, commencing in the second half of 2025. Sprintex Delivers Compressors for Billion Dollar Project

Australian company Sprintex has supplied a critical component to the US$15 billion EU Sustainable Hydrogen-Powered Shipping Project (sHYpS), involving 13 partner companies in six countries, which will convert six cruise ships to be powered by hydrogen fuel cells.Each vessel will be equipped with around 100MW of electrical power, derived from modular hydrogen fuel cells. The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) found carbon emissions fell 83% using a vegetable oil biofuel blend compared with marine gasoil in a trial for a dual-fuel liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier, the center said on Tuesday.This was the third of five supply chain bunkering trials that the GCMD has undertaken as part of an $18 million project to test different biofuel blends to reduce carbon emissions. KSOE's New LNG Fuel Supply System Gets DNV AIP

Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) and its subsidiary Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) have received an approval in principle (AIP) from DNV for their newly developed waste heat-derived liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel supply system Hi-eGAS (Hyundai High Efficient Gas Supply System) for 300K very large crude carriers (VLCC).Currently, LNG fuel propulsion ships have used boilers to make hot steam, which has converted LNG into a gas at room temperature to supply a ship’s engine.

Danish energy infrastructure investments firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is looking to build what it says is Europe’s largest production facility of CO2-free green ammonia, with the final product aimed at the shipping and agriculture sector as a means to reduce emissions.The project will be located in the town of Esbjerg on the west coast of Denmark, where the facility dubbed "Power-to-X-facility" will convert power from offshore wind turbines to green ammonia. Pandemic Forces Ship Owners to Shelve Scrubber Installs
