SHIPPINGInsight and CMA to Be Held Back-to-back

Two U.S. shipping conferences have joined forces to create the first ever North American Shipping Week, to be held October 12-16 in Stamford, Conn., organizers announced Thursday.SHIPPINGInsight will open the week on October 12, one day ahead of its orginal opening date, followed back-to-back by CMA Shipping starting on the afternoon of October 14. CMA Shipping, originally scheduled to be held from March 31 through April 2, had been rescheduled to take place June 29-July 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The organizers of SHIPPINGInsight 2017 say a Lunch-and-Learn program will be held during the annual Fleet Optimization Conference & Exhibition, to be held October 10-12, at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa in Stamford, Conn. The subject of ship telematics will be prominently featured at the upcoming SHIPPINGInsight 2015 Fleet Optimization Conference & Exhibition, which takes place in Stamford, Conn., Oct. 13-14. Bergeron to be Keynote Speaker at SHIPPINGInsight

We wish we had a dollar for every time we heard or read the words Big Data at the Nor-Shipping exhibition last month. We might even have collected enough cash to buy a round of expensive Norwegian beers for the gang at the Fridtjof bar. Seriously, Big Data is one of the most talked-about subjects at maritime industry gatherings. At Nor-Shipping there were no fewer than half a dozen panels and conference sessions focusing on the role of Big Data and analytics in commercial shipping.

More than 150 shipping industry professionals from around the world gathered this month in Stamford, Conn., for SHIPPINGInsight 2014 – a technical and ship operations forum for the maritime industry in North America. The annual SHIPPINGInsight event, held Sept. 30 – Oct. 2, encompassed three days of presentations, discussions, debates and networking. Participants represented a cross section of all sectors of the shipping industry – shipowners, ship managers, classification societies, technology suppliers, IT companies, consultants, professional service providers and others.
