Konecranes Inks Licensing Deal with Larsen & Toubro

Konecranes and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) have signed a licensing agreement for the manufacturing and distribution of Konecranes port cranes in India. The first products have been sold under this agreement: two shipyard jib cranes will be delivered to the Cochin Shipyard in Cochin, Kerala province.The agreement between Konecranes and L&T’s Minerals & Metals business unit covers manually operated Ship-to-Shore cranes, Rubber-Tired Gantry cranes and Rail-Mounted Gantry cranes across Konecranes’ brand portfolio. Konecranes shipyard cranes are also included.

CMC Installed on Ocean Blackhawk Drillship

ST Engineering Halter Marine and Offshore (STEHMO) installed a NOV crown mounted compensator (CMC) on Diamond Offshore’s Ocean Blackhawk drillship.The 215-metric-ton passive heave compensator was fully assembled and lifted on the top of the derrick on May 22, 2019. Konecranes Wins Follow-up Order from Brazilian Shipyard

Konecranes received an order for high-tech portal jib crane from Brasilian shipyard.

In June 2013 Konecranes received a further order from Brazilian shipyard Estaleiro Enseada do Paraguaçu – EEP. The high-tech portal jib crane is scheduled to be taken into operation in August 2014. The order follows up the Konecranes Goliath gantry crane that the same customer ordered in March 2013. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order, but the price for this type of crane typically is in the range of $6-8 million, depending on the exact scope of delivery. The crane will be equipped with the latest in crane technology.

Konecranes Get Kvaerner Goliath Crane Order

The Goliath gantry crane will be in operation at Kvaerner’s facilities at Stord on November 2013. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order. The ordered Goliath gantry crane will more than double the lifting capacity, from 350 to 800 tons. The span will be 153 meters and the height 115 meters. With the new Goliath crane Kvaerner will be able to conduct two topside projects in parallel, compared to one earlier. The markets on the Norwegian Continental Shelf show a large number of new oil and gas related onshore and offshore projects coming up during 2012-2020.

Shipyard Cranes Order for Konecranes

Konecranes has received an order for cranes for a shipyard being built in Baku, Azerbaijan. The order was placed by Baku Shipyard, a joint venture company formed by State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Keppel Offshore and Marine (KOM), and Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC). The order comprises one Goliath gantry crane and two portal jib cranes. The cranes will be delivered to the Baku shipyard by 2013. Baku Shipyard will develop a yard that is expected to be ready by the end of 2013.
