Maritime turbocharger services provider Tru-Marine Group say that Mr. Isaac Yohanan has joined as a General Manager and Director of Tru-Marine Houston LLC. The company inform that Mr. Yohanan will be responsible for Tru-Marine's business and service operation in the US and the Americas focusing on its rapidly expanding presence in the marine and off-shore energy markets in North, South and Central America offering scheduled overhauls, reconditioning and repair services for marine turbochargers.

(Tower) for the transfer of the unearned premium reserves on its marine and energy business previously written from its New York, NY office. As part of the transaction the team led by Messrs. Guarnera and Kaufmann will transfer from ANV to Tower in order to service the in-force policies for inland marine, off-shore energy, marine hull, cargo and liabilities currently serviced from the ANV New York office. ANV will continue to actively grow and promote its Marine and Energy business and customers from its London offices and through ANV Syndicate 1861. “This divestiture will enable ANV to pursue new investments in growing lines of business,” said R.

Wednesday April 27,  Industry Development Day there will be reports and discussion about current research on MHK advancement from Sandia National Laboratories,  National Renewable Energy Laboratory; and the Department of Energy. There will also be a workshop on Government Advocacy. Thursday April 28 features industry updates from CEOs and keynotes from Paul O'Brien of Scottish Development International; Michael Bromwich, Director, BOEMRE; John Wellinghof, Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; and William Tayler, Director Shore Energy, Office of the Deputy Asst. Secretary of Navy (Energy). The day concludes  with status reports  from the International Energy Agency Ocean Energy Systems Implementing Agreement updates from participating countries.

When one hears “off shore energy” in the marine sector, it is the petroleum industry that comes most readily to mind. Now a Shetland vessel chartering company has taken delivery of a boat with specialized equipment to support the maintenance of off shore wind-powered electrical generating units. Serving a function similar to that of Gulf of Mexico jack-up boats the new vessel has two 15-meter spud legs to hold it in position while servicing the wind mills. The portside push bows have a gap to suit the four-meter base of wind-farm piles, allowing the vessel to push up against the pile without fear of sliding off. The harder you push the less motion is felt at the bow of the vessel therefore allowing the safe transfer of personnel and heavy parts…
