TAI Engineers Names Kalla Director of Production Design

BOEM Taps Doug Boren to Lead Pacific Office

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) announced Doug Boren has been appointed as the new regional director for the agency’s Pacific Office in Camarillo, Calif. Boren will be responsible for managing the development of energy and mineral resources on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) offshore California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii.“Doug has many years of service with BOEM, working on aspects of OCS energy and minerals programs at the regional, national and international levels,” said BOEM Director Amanda Lefton.

Seaspan Names Hale Chief Administrative Officer

Seaspan ULC (Seaspan) has appointed Brent Hale as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Brent joined Seaspan in June 2015 as Vice President - Human Resources (HR). In this capacity Brent led the strategic reorganization of HR at Seaspan - implementing new HR and Labor Relations initiatives that facilitated rapid growth across the enterprise while significantly improving quality and efficiency. In his new role as CAO, Brent is accountable for leading Seaspan’s Corporate Shared Services, while continuing to be a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

Seaspan Appoints Three

Seaspan has named three new Vice Presidents to its Senior Leadership Team, announcing the appointments of Linda Wortman as Vice President, Finance & Accounting; Catherine Chick as Vice President, Business Services & Technology; and Shawn Chylinski as Vice President, Health, Safety, Environment & Quality. As Vice President, Finance & Accounting, Linda is responsible for strategic financial oversight of the marine division and corporate services. She is a key advisor to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team and ensures information and metrics are available to inform value added business decisions. Linda joined Seaspan in 2008 as Controller, Marine and was appointed to the role of Vice President, Finance & Accounting in January 2016.

Improved Performance for Lithium Ion Battery Systems

Corvus Energy has validated and is restating the product specifications for its lithium ion battery systems reflecting that the system has double the RMS power capability and substantially more energy capacity than previously reported. As part of its ongoing testing regimen, Corvus worked closely with LAEC and its founder, Dr. Majid Bahrami, at its state-of-the-art testing lab located at Simon Fraser University (SFU) on an extensive series of tests of the performance and characteristics of the AT6500 platform. The testing results are consistent with the performance of our existing installations, which are monitored closely. Corvus has the largest installed base of industrial lithium ion batteries in the maritime industry, including ferries, tugs, offshore supply vessels and port cranes.

Carnival’s Fathom Names Senior Sales Leader

Carnival Corporation's new brand Fathom has appointed Michelle Sutter as a company senior sales leader. Sutter will be responsible for marketing and business development supporting sales of the new “social impact travel” brand. A 15-year cruise industry veteran, Sutter joins Fathom from Holland America Line and Seabourn where she was business development manager since 2013. Sutter previously served in several sales roles of increasing responsibility at Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.

Kraken Announced Executive Appointments

Kraken Sonar Inc. announced it has recruited two industry veterans to further develop its sensors-to-systems strategy. Teekay LNG Partners L.P. announced that Beverlee F. Park has accepted an invitation to join Teekay LNG's Board of Directors and to Chair its Audit Committee, effective March 11, 2014. Park replaces Robert E. Boyd who retired today from the Teekay LNG Board after serving as a Director and Chair of its Audit Committee since 2005. Park has extensive management and board experience in a variety of industry sectors.
