ABB Turbocharging Launches Digital Tools to Save Fuel
ABB Turbocharging has launched a new digital solution designed to offer shipowners simplified management of propulsion efficiency and CO2 emissions monitoring and reporting, and potentially unlock up to 20% fuel savings.The new digital suite, called Tekomar XPERT marine, comprises three modules—engine, hull and propeller, and emissions—which, combined, provide actionable insights into ship performance to help shipping companies make better operating decisions and potentially reduce fuel usage. This, in turn, enables vessels to achieve improved carbon intensity index (CII) ratings.
McDATA Enterprise Storage Area Network to Support Naptheon
Shipbuilding (NNS), which designs, builds and maintains the ships, including nuclear powered aircraft carriers and submarines, has selected McDATA to deliver a centralized, easy to manage and highly available storage area network (SAN) solution to address the explosion of data growth the company has experienced. The McDATA solution lowers Naptheon's overall IT costs and ensures business continuance by delivering reliability and simplified management of Naptheon's sensitive data. "Naptheon has very mission-critical storage requirements. for a centralized storage strategy, providing an easy-to-manage, high availability environment to reduce costs. us to SANs, and ultimately to a SAN provider with industry-leading products, McDATA," said Paul Seay, technical specialist for Naptheon.
