Kongsberg to Deliver Simulator Suite for South Metropolitan TAFE

Kongsberg Digital (KDI) announced it has won a tender to supply a range of maritime simulator solutions for the South Metropolitan TAFE (Technical and Further Education) institute in Fremantle, Western Australia. Funded through the Department of Training and Workforce Development, this contract was awarded to KDI through an open and competitive process.The new contract commits KDI to the delivery, installation and commissioning of a complete maritime simulator suite of hardware and software technology, replacing SM TAFE’s current maritime simulator systems.

Norwegian Partners Developing Cloud-based Maritime Training

Kongsberg Digital (KDI) and the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) are partnering to develop cloud-based simulation exercises for the international maritime education market.As a developer of cloud-based simulation software, KDI is aiming to drive the evolution of cloud simulation technology as a sustainable and immersive supplementary tool for building competencies within the maritime industry, the company said, adding its partnership agreement with USN will seek to scale up the scope of maritime training.

Wärtsilä Delivers LNG Training Solutions for Anglo-Eastern

VSTEP, Poseidon to Bring NAUTIS to Philippines

Two international developers and suppliers of maritime-related educational and operational products, solutions and services, VSTEP and Poseidon Asia, Inc. (PAI), have forged an alliance to bring the NAUTIS maritime simulators and training apps to the Philippines. Headquartered in Rotterdam, VSTEP is known for its NAUTIS maritime simulator solutions and virtual training software for both civilian and naval military applications. Its DNV-certified simulators allow training in compliance with all known design criteria, class, and IMO requirements.

VSTEP Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification

VSTEP, global supplier of simulator solutions for commercial, government and military customers in the maritime and public safety and security sectors, has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification by DNV GL Business Assurance. Prior to achieving ISO certification, VSTEP completed a detailed audit of its Quality Management system by DNV GL. VSTEP Wins Mexican Navy Simulator Contract

The Mexican Navy selected VSTEP to supply a Class A NAUTIS Full Mission Bridge (FMB) Simulator and 24 NAUTIS desktop trainer stations for the Naval Academy in Veracruz. The simulators will be installed at the new simulator training wing of the Heroica Escuela Naval Militar set to open in Q4 2014. The Heroica Escuela Naval Militar is the school where future officers are trained for the General Corps of the Mexican Navy. In line with the expansion of the school’s training facilities, a new simulator wing is currently under construction.

CMI Orders VSTEP Simulators

The Caribbean Maritime Institute has ordered multiple VSTEP simulators for its new high tech simulation center at the campus in Kingston, Jamaica. VSTEP will deliver all simulator solutions for the facility, including a NAUTIS Full Mission Bridge Simulator and a Class C Engine Room Simulator.
