Cargotec, JCE Invest AB Form Joint Bulk Business

Cargotec has signed an agreement with JCE Invest AB to establish a joint venture, Bruks Siwertell Group, specialised in dry bulk handling. The new joint venture will own Siwertell AB (previously part of Kalmar Business Area within Cargotec) and BRUKS Holding AB (previously part of JCE Group). Both companies are world-leading suppliers of bulk materials handling solutions. Cargotec will own 48% of the shares in Bruks Siwertell Group, and JCE Invest AB will own the rest, 52%. The ownerships are included to venturers' consolidated financial statements in accordance with the applicable regulation. The transaction has been signed and closed on 9 May 2018. "This joint venture supports Cargotec's strategy to focus on container ports, heavy industrial segment and logistics.

BigLift Transports Two Siwertell CSU’

Earlier this month, BigLift Shipping’s Happy Dynamic successfully transported two 560 mt Siwertell Continuous Ship Unloaders (CSUs) from Chioggia, Italy, to Liverpool, UK. The CSUs are 35 m high and 24 m wide and, when in service, have a discharge capacity of 1,200 tons / hour. Both were loaded completely assembled – ready to be taken into service after discharge. The CSUs were loaded in a tandem lift operation by Happy Dynamic’s two 400 mt cranes. To reduce forces on the machines during the sea voyage, the CSUs were placed on Happy Dynamic’s tween deck and were lashed thoroughly using numerous wires as well as a pull bar system on the CSUs’ inlet. With the CSUs’ exceptional height the vessel sailed with open hatches.

Subsea Cranes, Cement Unloader Orders for Cargotec

Cargotec's MacGregor has secured a new IHC Merwede order for subsea cranes, and in Libya Cargotec is to supply a Turkish company with a mobile cement unloader to work ports along the coast. MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won an order worth around EUR 23 million for six active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea cranes from the Dutch IHC Merwede. The cranes will be installed on three pipe-laying ships destined for the UK headquartered global offshore specialist, Subsea 7. Delivery of the cranes is scheduled between June and December 2015.

Siwertell Ship Unloader Orders for Cargotec

Cargotec has secured orders for three new mobile Siwertell ship unloaders for ports in Turkey, Denmark and Sweden. The Siwertell road-mobile unloader enables clean, dust-free, handling of dry bulk material, and its minimal exhaust and sound emissions also means that it has the advantage of being able to be used in sensitive sites or those close to populated areas. The first of these new orders has now been commissioned and sees a diesel-powered, trailer-based Siwertell 10 000 S unit with a dual bellows system and dust filters in operation for Muhammet Gümüstas, in Trabzon, Turkey. The new unit handles cement at a rated capacity of 300t/h.

Cargotec Secures Order from Dong Energy

Cargotec has secured an order for a Siwertell ship unloader from Denmark's power company, Dong Energy; it will ensure a high-capacity unloading of wood pellets and coal for one of the most efficient power stations of its kind. Indonesia Fertilizer Producer Orders Siwertell Unloader

Cargotec's 300th Siwertell unloader contract will see the company deliver its safe, efficient and environmentally-friendly Siwertell system to the Indonesian fertiliser producer, PT Petrokimia Gresik. Siwertell Shiploader Keeps Cement Handling Clean

Adelaide Brighton Cement's new enclosed Siwertell system from Cargotec will ensure minimal environmental impact when loading cement and clinker at its plant in South Australia. Cargotec has won an order to supply Adelaide Brighton Cement with a Siwertell SSL 700 screw-type shiploader. A leading supplier of cement, lime and pre-packaged dry blended products into the South Australian market, and an exporter of cement to Victoria and clinker to Queenland, Adelaide Brighton Cement, specifically requested the Siwertell unit for its environmental credentials.

Cargotec Wins Ship Unloader Contract

Cargotec has won a significant order for two Siwertell ship unloaders to handle coal at Jorf Lasfar, on Morocco's Atlantic coast. The contract comes from the Jorf Lasfar Energy Company (JLEC) and includes repositioning two existing unloaders as well as installing the two new Siwertell units when they are delivered in 2013. The unloaders will suit a new jetty belt conveyor system with an increased travelling length at the Jorf  Lasfar coal-fired power plant, which is undergoing major expansion. Each Siwertell type ST 940-DOB unit will have a coal-unloading capacity of 2,400t/h. "Cargotec's Siwertell system is technically superior to the other systems offered: it is more efficient and environmental friendly," says Bertil Andersson, Sales Manager, Bulk Terminals.

Indian order for Enclosed Ship Unloader

Cargotec has received an order for a Siwertell ship unloader type ST790-D from the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO), Paradeep Unit. The enclosed screw-type unloader will be used to discharge rock phosphate and sulfur at a rated capacity of 1,800 t/h. "IFFCO wanted a totally enclosed system for both environmental and safety reasons," said Anders Paulsson, Sales manager, Bulk handling. "The company specified a screw-type unloader for high efficiency and chose a Siwertell system from Cargotec because we have by far the most knowledge and experience of this technology - the first Siwertell system designated for sulphur was delivered in 1980. Cargotec's Siwertell Sulphur Safety System (4S) was developed to minimise the risk of explosions and detect fires.

Siwertell Ship Unloaders Set Capacity Record

Two Siwertell ship unloaders delivered to the TPC Talin Power Plant, Kaohsiung Taiwan, recently set a record in ship capacity during commercial discharge of a bulk cargo. The Siwertell ship unloaders were tested in December 2010 with the MV Taipower Prosperity II. The cargo was unloaded by two heavy duty Siwertell ST 940-DOB units. This model is one of the largest Siwertell ship unloaders ever supplied and is designed to unload coal from ships of up to 150,000 dwt with a rated capacity of 2,200 t/h per unit.

PD Ports Shortlisted for Int’l Bulk Journal Awards

PD Ports has been shortlisted for the International Bulk Journal Awards 2009, in the category of Best Ship Loading/Unloading System. The awards, which take place in Amsterdam on 23rd November, will see PD Ports compete against four other entries, which include U.S. construction company Agrico Sales and German mobile pneumatic conveyors manufacturer Neuero. PD Ports is the only UK finalist in its category and has been shortlisted on the basis on the installation of the Siwertell equipment at Immingham. The Siwertell 5000s offers the bulk market an environmentally friendly solution for discharging dry bulk products such as cement, grain and fertilizers, due to its ability to minimize dust emissions. This is achieved through the equipment’s totally enclosed conveying line.
