Ivar Aasen Ready for Departure

(Singapore, 22 May 2016) The topside of Ivar Aasen field was  completed on Sunday at the shipyard in Singapore and sailed to Norway shortly. The tire was delivered on budget and on time, which enables field development is on track to start production on December 1. "Ivar Aasen field is an important development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and the Norwegian as operator . We are therefore very pleased to finalize the platform deck according to budget and on time. Work performed in Singapore are of high quality, and the project is an example of a successful global supplier collaboration to create value on the Norwegian continental shelf," says Karl Johnny Hersvik, CEO of the Norwegian.

SMOE Wins $1bln Multi-platform Culzean Contract

Singapore's offshore services provider Sembcorp Marine has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth over USD1 billion for the Culzean field development project in the North Sea. Sembcorp Marine subsidiary SMOE construction contract  will cover the topsides for the central processing facility, wellhead platform and utilities and living quarter platform, and two connecting bridges. The facility will installed in the UK sector of the Central North Sea. The three-platform complex will be installed in 90 m (295 ft) of water.

SEMBCORP MARINE’S SEMBAWANG SHIPYARD TO REVITALISE 'VOYAGER OF THE SEAS'

Sembcorp Marine’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has secured an agreement with RCL Cruises Ltd., a member of the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. group, to perform the extensive revitalisation of Royal Caribbean International’s 137,276-gross tonnage, passenger-ship 'Voyager of the Seas'. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is a global cruise vacation company that owns Royal Caribbean International, among other cruise brands. This milestone revitalisation contract will further boost Singapore’s status as a major Asian cruise hub and reinforce Sembawang Shipyard’s reputation as one of the world’s leading shipyards in the highly specialised segment of cruise ships repair, refurbishment and conversion. Sembcorp Marine to Ink Offshore Platform Contract

Sembcorp Marine subsidiary SMOE secures a Letter of Intent for an EPC Contract to build an offshore platform integrated topside. The contract worth about S$900 million, is from Det norske oljeselskap ASA, Norway, for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the process, drilling and quarters Platform (pdQ) topsides to be installed at a water depth of 112 metres for the Ivar Aasen development in the North Sea. The Ivar Aasen project is situated west of the Johan Sverdrup-field in the Norwegian Continental Shelf, 180km west of Stavanger, containing approximately 150 million barrels of oil equivalents. Sembcorp Plants UK Footprint

Sembcorp Marine (SMOE) acquires, from Smulders Group, SLP Engineering Limited (SLP) based in Lowestoft, UK. SLP  will be renamed Sembmarine SLP Limited (Sembmarine SLP) and will be held through newly incorporated company Sembmarine North Sea Limited (Sembmarine North Sea). Sembmarine North Sea will be 70% owned by SMOE and 30% owned by eight members of the SLP Management team led by its Managing Director, Mr Paul Thomson. SMOE will acquire all the shares in SLP from Zefier, a subsidiary of Smulders Group. Under the Sales & Purchase Agreement signed on 14 September 2012, SMOE will pay about £2.5 million for both shares and settlement of the intercompany loans of SLP. The deal will be completed only upon certain conditions being met. The NTA of SLP is about £0.7 million.

Bolidt Underlay Worth Weight for ConocoPhillips

Efforts by ConocoPhillips to achieve the lightest weight possible for the superstructure of its Ekofisk L accommodation facility have been demonstrated by its selection of an underlay construction material. The oil major has selected Boliscreed 400 for the high-profile North Sea unit, which will replace the longstanding Ekofisk H and Ekofisk Q as part of ConocoPhillips plans to prolong activities in the Ekofisk field by up to 40 years. Ekofisk L’s top side is currently under construction at Singapore’s Sembawang (SMOE) shipyard…
