Barranquilla Implements Tideworks TOS

Tideworks Technology, Inc., a premier provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced that the new Barranquilla Container Terminal (BCT), located at the Port of Barranquilla, Colombia, has successfully implemented and gone live with Tideworks’ terminal operating system (TOS) solutions. BCT has deployed Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System, Forecast by Tideworks and Spinnaker Planning Management System. Tideworks will continue to provide its platinum maintenance and support services including around-the-clock technical support and all software upgrades. Additionally BCT will receive ongoing remote technical services to include system health monitoring and database and OS administration.

AAPA Cruise Seminar to Explore, Assess Industry Issues

The American Association of Port Authorities’ (AAPA) 2013 Cruise Seminar in San Francisco, April 24-26, will kick off with a candid look inside the cruise industry from the perspective of four key cruise line executives and end with a tour of the Port of San Francisco to see the impact of the America’s Cup on port operations. In between these bookend sessions, seminar participants will be treated to a host of presentations ranging from new international regulations on ship air emissions to itinerary planning, cruise facility design, financing and joint-use terminal opportunities.

Duarte Tapped as AAPA 2013 Chairman

AAPA Elects Armando Duarte of Santa Marta, Colombia, As 2013 Chairman. The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA)—representing the interests of seaports throughout the Western Hemisphere—this week during its Centennial Spring Conference board of directors meeting in Washington, D.C.—elected Armando Duarte-Peláez as its next chairman of the board. Mr. Duarte- Peláez’s one-year term will begin the last day of AAPA’s 101st Annual Convention in Mobile, Ala., which runs Oct. 21-25, 2012.

SMITCO to Deploy Terminal Management

Tideworks Technology and Santa Marta International Terminal Company (SMITCO), a joint venture between Manzanillo International Terminal-Panama, S.A. (MIT) and Sociedad Portuaria de Santa Marta (SPSM), announced the finalization of an agreement for the implementation of Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System. SMITCO has already been utilizing Tideworks’ container planning software, Spinnaker Planning Management System, to graphically plan yard and vessel activities and increase operational efficiencies.
