Wärtsilä introduces its Eniram SkyLight 2.0

Eniram, a Wärtsilä company, has introduced a major update to its performance monitoring system targeted at commercial shipping operators. The Eniram SkyLight 2.0 adds nautical maps, weather layers, and route importation to make predictive analysis and proactive planning more available. The updated system can visualise a vessel’s route from economic, environmental, and safety perspectives. Together with the weather and route information, SkyLight 2.0 includes the possibility to switch between updated nautical maps and Google maps as a background within SkyLight’s ‘fleet’, its software interface. These combined features facilitate the analysing and predicting of what will happen, thus enabling the operator to be proactive in responding appropriately.

NAUTIS Simulators Introduce Interface to PC Maritime ECDIS

VSTEP and PC Maritime have jointly developed a software interface which they say makes high quality, yet affordable ECDIS and radar training possible. Following its radar video interface with the Kelvin Hughes and MARIS ECDIS, VSTEP’s NAUTIS bridge simulators now also connect to PC Maritime’s Navmaster ECDIS to provide training colleges with a DNV-approved generic ECDIS training installation. The VSTEP/PC Maritime bridge simulators can be provided as software only to run on standard PCs, or with hardware consoles up to Full Mission Bridge Simulators. The range is designed for nautical colleges and company training centers in compliance with the latest STCW requirements.

ClassNK and Tribon Offer Different Options

The Japanese classification society ClassNK and Tribon Solutions offer time savings in the early phases of ship design through a new software interface. As part of a program to facilitate cooperation between ship designers and classification societies through digital data transfer, the Japanese classification society ClassNK and software provider Tribon Solutions have developed a direct interface between the Tribon Shipbuilding system and ClassNK PrimeShip. This new capability offers efficient data transfer and cost reductions in the early ship design phases. As a result of this integrated process, ship designers will be able to examine multiple design alternatives in a shorter time allowing more detailed analysis of structural strength and steel weight.
