Nupas-Cadmatic has signed a contract for the delivery of 3D design and information management software to shipyard Drydock World Dubai (DDWD). The largest single deal in Nupas-Cadmatic’s history, the company said the contract represents its breakthrough in the international offshore industry. Reederei Hamburger Lloyd GmbH & Co KG (RHL), signed a contract with BASS on December 31, 2014, for virtually the full suite of BASSnet software solutions for its fleet of 28 container ships and chemical tankers. BASS said its shipping software solutions cover all major aspects of fleet management under its concept of providing one complete solution for the maritime and offshore industries, providing RHL with a package to streamline and optimize its operations. Oceanografia S.A. de C.V., one of Mexico’s largest offshore vessel operators specializing in underwater survey, diving, pipe laying construction and maintenance operations, has signed a contract with ABS Nautical Systems to implement the NS5 Enterprise asset management software across its entire fleet of multi-purpose offshore support vessels. Six of the vessels are ABS-classed newbuilds and will utilize the Maintenance & Repair and Drawings Management modules as part of the ABS Newbuild Program, resulting in savings for software licenses, database development and consulting services of nearly $100,000. In addition, the company will also install the Purchasing & Inventory and Crew Management modules.

SOIC has selected Nupas-Cadmatic for 3D CAD/CAM to create increasingly intricate designs of ships and vessels. After doing research about possible software suppliers, SOIC invited the selected companies for demonstrations. Nupas-Cadmatic performed the best and met the demands of SOIC. Both companies decided to start with a pilot project. SOIC placed an order with Nupas-Cadmatic after the three month trial was successfully completed. Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center, also known as SOIC, was established in 1976 under the sponsorship of the Ministries of Economic Affairs, National Defense, Communications, and Education and with donation from several large contractors.

Autoship Systems Corporation sold its CAD/CAM software to Herma Shipbuilding, Inc. of Quezon City, Philippines. Herma's installation of Autoship Pro, Autopower, Autohydro Pro, Autoplate and Autostructure and Production Manager is for two dedicated users across a network platform. AutoPlant, a 3D Piping program from ASC partner firm, Bentley Systems, Inc., was also installed with direct integration into Autostructure. Herma Shipyard provides shipbuilding, ship repair and ship conversion services. It is a member of the Herma Group, which provides petroleum, maritime and environmental services.

Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada has been a leader in CADCAM vessel design software for nearly 25 years. Originally conceived for the monohull, ASC software is now used for designing all types of marine vessels – from conventional hull forms to oil rigs. In the early 1980s, PCs were beginning to have respectable computing power at a relatively affordable price. This situation encouraged Grahame Shannon of Vancouver, Canada to develop his idea of designing vessels on the PC-platform. Soon Shannon had many naval architects knocking at his door. His design software, called Autoship, had apparently made the vessel designer’s life a lot easier.
