CMA CGM Upgrades NEMO service

Shipping group CMA CGM has reinforced its Europe / Indian Ocean & Australia offering by upgrading its NEMO service, which liaises North Europe and the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean Islands and Australia on the southbound leg and Australia to southeast Asia and Europe on the northbound leg.This upgraded service will be effective in September 2019 and operated in partnership with MSC, subject to applicable filing requirements.CMA CGM said the new offer will feature an upgraded fleet and provide expanded port coverage through a better utilization of hubs offering dedicated feeder services.

Maersk Line Revamps Far East/Southeast India Network

Container shipper Maersk Line has introduced two new services for its Far East/Southeast India network: the Chennai Express (CHX) and the Chennai Express 2 (CHX2). From January 2016, the shipper will introduce two new services, a vessel sharing agreement on the Chennai Express (CHX) and slot charter agreement on the Chennai Express 2 (CHX2). The revamped network will include a Northern China direct call, headhaul new direct port calls including Singapore, Hong Kong, Yantian and Port Klang, and backhaul new direct port calls including Busan, Singapore and Port Klang.

P&O India Port Concessions

The Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) said its Ports unit had won a 30-year concession to develop a container terminal in India worth $170 million. The concession provides for the modernization of the current terminal operations and the development of Madras in southeast India as a major hub port. - (Reuters)
