Wärtsilä, CEVA Expand Cooperation
Wärtsilä, a ship power and decentralized power plant solutions, and CEVA Logistics, a supply chain company, have signed an agreement for the outsourcing of warehousing operations for Wärtsilä's 24/7 global spare parts activities in the Netherlands. The agreement follows Wärtsilä's earlier announcement of its intention to consolidate the company's spare parts logistics and to build a Central Distribution Centre facility in the Netherlands. The new operating model is planned to be fully implemented during 2011. Until then, CEVA will already manage the existing Dutch warehouse of Wärtsilä in Zwolle and will assist in the design of the new Central Distribution Centre.
CEVA to Run Wärtsilä’s Spare Parts Transportation Services
Wärtsilä signed a cooperation agreement for the 24/7 global spare parts transportation management and control tower services for Wärtsilä Services. For CEVA, the contract value is approximately EUR 32 million per annum over the next 3 years. The agreement follows Wärtsilä's earlier announcement of its intention to centralize spare parts logistics and to build a facility in the . The new operating model is planned to be fully implemented by 2011. CEVA Logistics will take responsibility for shipments of spare parts to Wärtsilä's various warehousing facilities in and for the spare parts deliveries to Wärtsilä's international customers.
