Boskalis Expects Baltic Ace Salvage Contract
The Dutch Department of Public Works intends to award the contract for the salvage of the wreck of the car carrier Baltic Ace to Boskalis and its partner Mammoet Salvage, Boskalis announced in a press release late last week. The wreck and its cargo need to be removed because they pose a threat to the environment and to shipping on the busy route towards the Port of Rotterdam. The Department of Public Works expects the definitive signing of the contract in the second half of March 2014.
Sunken Car Carrier to be Salvaged by Boskalis Partnership
Boskalis inform that the Dutch Department of Public Works intends to award the contract for the salvage of the wreck of the car carrier 'Baltic Ace' to Boskalis and its partner Mammoet Salvage. Boskalis explain that the wreck and its cargo need to be removed because they pose a threat to the environment and to shipping on the busy route towards the Port of Rotterdam. The Department of Public Works expects the definitive signing of the contract in the second half of March 2014. Execution of the project is expected to commence in the course of 2014 and will be completed before the end of 2015.
Titan Establishes Salvage Base in Australia
Titan Salvage continues to expand globally with the recent addition of a new salvage base and depot in Australia. The facility located in Cairns, Queensland is strategically located to respond to marine and environmental disasters threatening the Great Barrier Reef and other marine casualties throughout the Australasia and South West Pacific regions. As part of the expansion, Titan has exclusively partnered with Perrott Salvage of Cairns, a locally based salvage operator, who will serve as Titan's regional representative.
