Record at APM Terminals Barcelona

APM Terminals Barcelona has reached a new milestone in its history, breaking the record for movements during a call by registering 5,394 movements on the Millau Bridge ship, which belongs to The Alliance, the terminal's main service.It is the highest level of activity registered on a ship in the Catalan terminal since the arrival of the OOCL Brussels in 2017, when 5,323 movements were performed. Matson Increases Its South Pacific Express Service

Matson said it it will increase the frequency of its South Pacific Express (SPX) service to Samoa and American Samoa from 28 days to 14 days. The service provides transits from Hawai'i and the U.S. West Coast to the Samoas: 12 days from Long Beach and 5.5 days from Honolulu to Pago Pago, with an extra day to Apia. Matson launched its SPX service on August 10, 2016, establishing reliable, fixed day shipping service between the U.S. West Coast, Hawai'i and the Samoas. Its new fortnightly SPX schedule is made possible by the company's acquisition of a larger, faster vessel that has been christened "Samoana" and will be welcomed at special ceremonies following its maiden voyage arrivals at Pago Pago and Apia.

Matson Launches US West Coast - South Pacific Service

U.S. carrier in the Pacific Matson, Inc. has introduced a new containership service between the U.S. West Coast and ports in Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga and Fiji. Starting August 10, 2016, the shipper’s South Pacific Express (SPX) will for the first time link the its West Coast - Hawaii service with its South Pacific network. The Danish offshore survey solution specialist EIVA a/s has appointed a new global sales director, Jakob Møller Nielsen. He comes from a similar position at SPX Flow Technology, which is part of the Fortune 500 SPX Corporation. Vietnam Shipyard Builds New Caledonia Tugboat

Cty TNHH Vuot Song, the subsidiary shipyard of Roy’s Maritime in Vietnam has just finished the construction of a 16-m long tugboat for New Caledonia, that will be delivered to the ship owner early 2014. The tugboat ‘Taabya.on’ is 16 meters long and 6.20 meters in breadth with a 16-tonee bollard pull, and will be used for the transportation of nickel in New Caledonia. Build of the new vessel was supervised by classification society Bureau Veritas, and New Caledonian Maritime in accordance with the divison 222.

Cambridge Pixel unveils SPx Simulator to test and validate complex primary radar display applications. The sophisticated SPx Simulator software builds on Cambridge Pixel’s established SPx radar processing library to provide a flexible tool for system developers allowing multi-radar simulations or scenarios to be constructed including terrain effects, primary radar targets, secondary targets (AIS, IFF, ADS-B) and navigation data.
