Evergreen Line's latest three L-type vessels, numbers 12, 13 and 14 in the series have been named 'Ever Legend', 'Ever Learned' and 'Ever Legion'. The christening ceremony was officiated by S.S. Lin, the Evergreen Group's First Vice Group Chairman, at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Korea.The official rope-cuttings of the new 8,452-TEU vessels were performed by Ms. Chung, Teh-Mei, (Chief Executive Director of Chang Yung-Fa Foundation), Ms. Liou, Meng-Fen (Group Executive Officer, Secretariat, of Evergreen Group) and Ms.

The seventh L-type containership for Evergreen Line, launched and named at Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard. The new ship  was christened by S.S. Lin, the Evergreen Group's First Vice Group Chairman, and the ceremonial rope cutting for the new 8,452-TEU vessel was performed by Mrs. Lai Chao-Yin, wife of Mr. Shiu Kuang-Si, the president of Mega International Commercial Bank, in a ceremony attended by dignitaries from Taiwan and abroad. Ever Lawful is owned by Evergreen Marine (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

Korea-built Container Ships for Evergreen Named

Naming ceremonies held at  Samsung Heavy Industries Shipyard for two 8,542 TEU L-class container ships built for Evergreen. Ever Laden, the second L-type containership of Evergreen Line, was christened by S.S. Lin, the Evergreen Group's First Vice Group Chairman, at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard. The ceremonial rope cutting for the new 8,452-TEU vessel was performed by Mrs. Mei-Sui Lin in a ceremony attended by dignitaries from Taiwan and abroad. Evergreen’s New Line from Taiwan to China

Evergreen Line's 1140-TEU Uni-Adroit set sail across the 100-mile-wide Taiwan Straits for China's northern Xingang port on December 15, 2009 opening a new era of direct ocean shipping following a ceremony at Kaohsiung harbor overseen by Taiwan's President Ma Yin-Jiu. The direct link ends a nearly 60-year suspension of such services between Taiwan and the China mainland. The new direct service was accelerated with the election and inauguration of President Ma earlier this year. The two nations signed an agreement in November to ensure the opening of trade as beneficial to both economies.
