DMW Delivers Marine Cranes for the US Navy
DMW Marine Group, LLC. has delivered two 40 ton meter knuckleboom cranes to the U.S. Navy. The model M400 cranes will replace two similarly sized cranes that were provided by another vendor. The Navy has decided to replace its rusty equipment with a corrosion resistant marine crane, according to DMW Marine Group. DMW Marine Group said its equipment features stainless steel pipes and fittings, a sand blasted and flame metalized structure and Ni-Cr 500 piston rods which enables their cranes to withstand marine environments.

Victaulic to Present Grooved Pipe-joining Technology
Victaulic, a manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining systems, is exhibiting its line of IACS-approved products that they say reduce the need for vessel maintenance and help make maintenance quicker, simpler and safer at Marine Maintenance World Expo 2013. On show at stand no. 1020 will be a selection of rigid and flexible couplings, fittings and accessories that reduce the time and space needed for piping system installation, and allow easier access for repair and maintenance.
Scanjet Macron completes challenging Hanseatic tank level retrofit
Scanjet Macron has completed a challenging tank level gauging system retrofit onboard Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ MS Hanseatic during the 18-year old vessel’s 13-day dry docking at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg. The 184-passenger ship Hanseatic is classed as the world’s only Five Star expedition ship, according to Berlitz Cruise Guide 2011. Vessels: Big Cat Express: A Very Fast Sea Trial
It's 8:30 a.m. as the Big Cat Express saddles up to the dock at the Port of Morgan City, La. It is Sea Trial day for the big quad engine catamaran ferry. No question she is waterjet powered as the tops of the blue "buckets" of the four Hamilton Jet 651's break the surface of the water at the stern.
