Think Tank: US Port Cybersecurity At Risk
Conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation argued for increased U.S. port cybersecurity in a report published online this week. "The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and maritime stakeholders need to stay ahead of [cybersecurity] risks in order to keep trade flow maximized, while avoiding the creation of regulations that may slow trade and hinder business," wrote author and Heritage Foundation research assistant Riley Walters. The report was published just a day before U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Adm.
Havyard Group Firm Executives Change Roles
Havyard Group informs that Roar Stenersen has been appointed as Executive Vice-President of Havyard Fish Handling & Refrigeration to replace Leif Gjelseth who takes over as leader of sales and business development. Roar Stenersen, has since October 2013 been the general manager of the two product areas in Havyard Fish Handling and Refrigeration and had day-to-day responsibility for operations. The Board has now appointed Stenersen as Executive Vice President for Havyard Fish Handling & Refrigeration AS. He also replaces Leif Gjelseth in the corporate management at Havyard Group ASA. The Group explains that since it acquired a majority stake in MMC Tendos Holding in 2012, there has been an ongoing process of integration of the company's activities in Havyard Group.

Allied Systems Cranes for CG Icebreakers
On March 27, the U.S. Coast Guard awarded Allied Systems Company a $10m dollar contract to provide deck cranes and auxiliary hydraulic power units for the USCG icebreakers Polar Star (WAGB-10) and Polar Sea (WAGB-11).
