Concussed Ro/Ro Crewman Medevaced

A 27-year-old crew member reportedly suffering from concussion-like symptoms was medevaced from a commercial Ro/Ro vessel approximately 14 miles east of Lake Worth Inlet, Fla.   U.S. Coast Guard watchstanders in Miami received a call on VHF-FM marine-band radio channel 16 at 11:15 a.m. from a crewmember aboard the 656-foot Norwegian-flagged car carrier Hoegh Trotter stating a crewmember was in need of medical attention.   A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet arrived on scene and transported the man to the station where emergency medical services were waiting.   EMS personnel transported the ailing crew member to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Search Suspended for Alleged Cruise Ship Jumper

U.S. Coast Guard crews have suspended their air and sea search for a 30-year-old man who reportedly jumped over the railing of the Bahamas Cruise Ship Celebration early Sunday morning, 27-miles east of Delray Beach, Florida. James Miller of Charleston, South Carolina reportedly jumped overboard early Sunday and Coast Guard crews have been searching for him since. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bluefin, an 87-foot patrol boat, homeported in Fort Pierce, Florida. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Diamondback, an 87-foot patrol boat, homeported in Miami. A Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet 45-foot Response Boat—Medium crew. An MH-65 rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami. A HC-144 Ocean Sentry maritime patrol aircraft from Coast Guard Air Station Miami.

Coast Guard Searching for Overboard Cruise Ship Passenger

U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) crews are searching by sea and air for a 30-year-old man who reportedly jumped over the railing of the Bahamas Cruise Ship Celebration early Sunday morning, 27-miles east of Delray Beach, Florida. James Miller of Charleston, South Carlina, a passenger aboard the vessel, reportedly went overboard early Sunday, the USCG said. Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Seventh District in Miami received notification from the Celebration at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday.
