Fussey Engineering Backs Hornsea 2

Siemens Energy has selected UK-based Fussey Engineering to supply and install steel framework and cladding at the National Grid 400kV substation site adjacent to the Hornsea Two offshore wind project.The steelworks, which will involve the construction of an annex building adjoining the National Grid substation, includes around 30 tonnes of locally sourced steel.With headquarters located less than a mile away from the new onshore substation in Lincolnshire, Fussey Engineering have worked all over the country, supplying a plethora of projects with steel fabrication.Michael Fussey, Director of Fussey Engineering said: “Here at Fussey Engineering we are proud to be involved in this small part in creating what is to be the largest offshore wind farm in the world.

Australian Dual-Fuel Project Nears Completion

MAN Diesel & Turbo Australia’s 33-MW Owen Springs Project, featuring the new 51/60DF dual-fuel engine, has taken a significant step with the arrival of the first of three generator sets at the new power plant. MAN Diesel & Turbo is constructing the Owen Springs plant, located near Alice Springs in Australia’s Northern Territory, for Power and Water Corporation (PWC), a major Australian public utility, with commissioning of the first engine expected in July 2010. The current project phase, covering the construction of the power house, control room, switch room, administration centre, tank farm, pump house and maintenance workshop buildings, is set for completion on schedule in May 2010.

Sleek Design for Indonesian Tug

The team, composed of owner H. Darmansyah, naval architect Surjo Adji and yard manager Heri Nurcahyono, has built the Muji Rahayu Shipyard into a major player amongst Asian boat builders The yard is located near Samarinda in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.In mid-February they had more than 15 vessels nearing completion. But more than tugs ware under construction. The steel framework for huge covered areas was being assembled so that work could proceed more easily in the rainy season. In other parts of the yard concrete abutments were being built for fitting out piers.
