TGS Begins Seismic 3D Survey West of Scotland

TGS says it has commenced acquisition of a new 3D multi-client survey in the West of Shetland region. The survey will cover 2,500km2 and will tie into TGS' existing 3D library in the region, bringing the total volume of recent TGS 3D in the area to more than 17,500 km2. The broadband seismic data will be acquired by the M/V Polarcus Naila towing 12 streamers at 6,000 m cable length. Data processing will be performed by TGS using its proven proprietary broadband technology, Clari-FiTM. Initial data will be available to clients in Q4 2014. "TGS is pleased to announce the industry's first 3D data over the Brendan Basin in UKCS Quad 219" commented Stein Ove Isaksen, Senior VP Eastern Hemisphere for TGS. "This confirms our strong presence in the West of Shetland region".

TGS Starts Barents Sea 3D Seismic Survey

The 3D EM data is being acquired by the M/V 'Atlantic Guardian': data will be available to clients through both EMGS and TGS. The survey is supported by industry funding. TGS in partnership with Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) signed an agreement to jointly invest in a 3D electromagnetic (EM) multi-client survey covering 11 blocks, or approximately 3300 km2, in the Hoop area of the Barents Sea. Under the terms of the previously announced agreement, EMGS will be given access to TGS' 2D seismic data for survey planning and integration purposes, while TGS will obtain access to 3D EM data to evaluate and plan subsequent multi-client work over the area. "TGS and EMGS are pleased to now join forces in the Barents Sea," commented Stein Ove Isaksen, Senior VP Eastern Hemisphere for TGS.

Seismic Survey Offshore Liberia: 'Polarcus Asima' Starts Work

TGS has commenced acquisition of a 3D multi-client survey, Sunfish, which covers up to 7,800 km2 of highly prospective acreage in the Harper Basin, offshore Liberia. "This survey provides excellent data coverage for the source prone, syn-rift and early post-rift sequences, in this highly prospective area offshore Liberia. TGS has been active in acquiring data over the West Africa Transform margin for the past decade and this survey demonstrates TGS' ongoing commitment to grow the seismic data library in Africa," commented Stein Ove Isaksen, Senior VP Eastern Hemisphere for TGS. TGS has chartered the 12 streamer Polarcus Asima for this survey. The charter will last for approximately six months.
