Stolt Tankers Orders Six Tankers from Wuhu Shipyard

NYK Group, Stolt Tankers, and ENEOS Ocean Unveil Chemical Ship Pool Business

The NYK Group, Stolt Tankers, and ENEOS Ocean launched a chemical ship pool business in the Asia-Pacific region in October.Shipowners and operators pool their vessels and undertake transportation services at the request of shippers. Stolt Tankers Adds Three Chemical Tankers

Stolt-Nielsen Limited announced on Friday that Stolt Tankers B.V. has entered into agreements to acquire three 33,600 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers built in Japan. Stolt-Nielsen to Buy Five Chemical Tankers from CTG

Stolt-Nielsen has via Stolt Tankers B.V. agreed to buy five chemical tankers from Chemical Transportation Group (CTG) for trading in the Stolt Tankers Joint Service, in a move to modernize its fleet.The five ships, which are 26,000 dwt and with stainless steel cargo sections, were built in China in 2016 and 2017. The purchase of each ship isexpected to close between December 2020 and February 2021. DESMI Ocean Guard wins Stolt Tanker Deal

Stolt Tankers B.V. and DESMI Ocean Guard A/S has announced that Stolt Tankers has selected the CompactClean Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) for installation on Stolt Tankers’ existing fleet.The agreement is to provide more than 60  chemical tankers with the CompactClean BMWS by the end of 2023. Stolt Acquires Three Ships for European Fleet

Stolt Tankers B.V. has agreed to acquire three 5,800 dwt fully stainless steel parcel tankers from Odfjell Tankers AS. The ships, which were built in 1997-1998 and are sister ships of three tankers currently operated by Stolt Tankers, are expected to join the Stolt-Nielsen Inter-Europe Service by the end of August 2015. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Commenting on the purchase, Hans P. Feringa, President of Stolt Tankers, said, "We are pleased to have acquired these well priced, high quality assets, which enhance the scale efficiency of our fleet of European regional parcel tankers. NYK Stolt Order Chemical Parcel Tanker Pair

NYK Stolt Shipholdings says it has ordered two 12,500 dwt parcel tankers from Usuki Shipyard in Japan. NYK explains that a parcel tanker is a versatile chemical tanker that can transport various types of cargoes at the same time, and these two new vessels are the ninth and tenth vessel ordered, following the eight that NSSH currently holds and operates. The two vessels, which will be delivered from the shipyard in July 2016 and September 2016 respectively, will have the most advanced environmental technology with 18 stainless-steel cargo tanks. The new tankships will be chartered to Stolt NYK Asia Pacific Services Inc. (SNAPS), which is a joint venture company between NYK and Stolt Tankers B.V. for operating the vessels.

Six New Chemical Tankers to Feature Wärtsilä Propulsion

Wärtsilä received an order to supply complete main propulsion systems for six new chemical tankers. The ships are being built at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group yard in China on behalf of Stolt Tankers B.V., the operator of one of the world's largest chemical tanker fleets and a unit of Stolt-Nielsen Limited. There is an option for a further two vessels. The Wärtsilä propulsion packages include Wärtsilä RT-flex50 two-stroke engines, controllable pitch propellers with a tunnel gearbox and shaft generator and oily water separators.

Stolt Tankers Five Stainless Steel Parcel Tankers

Stolt Tankers B.V., a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (Oslo Børs: SNI), has announced  that it has reached an agreement with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. (Hudong-Zhonghua) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd, (CSTC), under China Shipbuilding Group Corporation (CSSC), for five plus three options 38,000 deadweight ton (dwt) stainless steel parcel tankers, with deliveries expected to take place from December 2015 onwards. The agreement is subject to satisfactory financing being obtained. The ships were designed to deliver substantial improvements in fuel efficiency, while providing operational flexibility with their fully stainless steel cargo tanks, cargo pumps, heating and cooling capacity.

Fire Contained on MT Stolt Valor

London - Stolt Tankers B.V., a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (Oslo Børs: SNI) and owner and operator of MT Stolt Valor, reported today that the fire on the ship has been contained. One crew member is still missing. The ship is under tow approximately 45 miles off the coast of Qatar. There has been no spillage of fuel oil from the ship, nor any reported or visible spillage of cargo. Stolt Tankers continues to work in close cooperation with the authorities, salvage experts and insurers to salvage the ship and its cargoes and to avoid any environmental impact. Full investigations into the cause of the accident are being conducted by the flag state and the Company. MT Stolt Valor is a 2004-built chemical tanker of 25,268 dwt.

Stolt Valor in Middle East Gulf Casualty

Stolt Tankers B.V., a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen Limited and operators and owners of MT Stolt Valor, has confirmed that the vessel suffered an explosion on board while transiting the Persian Gulf.   At least one crew member is reported missing. A Coalition warship is presently on site and is providing assistance. The company reported that 24 of the 25 crew members are safe and on board the Coalition vessel. One crew member is currently missing. Families of all the crew are being contacted as a matter of urgency.   Stolt is working in close cooperation with the authorities on site in order to establish the whereabouts of its missing seafarer and the condition of the vessel.

Chemical tanker Stolt Island, one of a series of six sister vessels, has been selected as a Significant Ship of 2009 by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. She was delivered to her owners with 18 SOLASAFE anti glare roller screens at her navigation bridge windows. When in use the screens will reject the glare, heat and uv light from the sun. Stolt Tankers Receives Full Refund for Cancelled Newbuildings

Stolt-Nielsen S.A. (Oslo Børs: SNI) said its wholly owned subsidiary Stolt Tankers B.V. received a full refund of $84.5 million plus accrued interest, as part of an early termination agreement with SLS Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. (SLS) of South Korea to cancel newbuilding contracts for two 43,000 dwt stainless steel parcel tankers. The refund was for progress payments made by Stolt Tankers on the two ships, which were ordered in 2006 as part of a series of eight parcel tankers to be built by SLS. M/T Stolt Valor Released by Hijackers

Stolt-Nielsen S.A. (Oslo Børs: SNI) today confirmed that M/T Stolt Valor was released on the morning of Nov. 16 by its hijackers, who took control of the ship two months ago. All crew members were unharmed. M/T Stolt Valor, which is on time charter from Japanese owners to Stolt Tankers B.V. was seized whilst transiting the Gulf of Aden on September 15. Since that time the owners worked continuously with the assistance of the relevant authorities and professional negotiators to secure the release of the vessel and the crew members on board. The Company, however, remained deeply concerned with the welfare of the crew members of M/T Stolt Strength, also a time-charter ship, which was hijacked on November 11 and continued to be held by the hijackers in the Gulf of Aden. Stolt Tankers B.V., a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen S.A. (OsloBørs: SNI), announced on March 18 that it has cancelled a contract with SLS Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. of South Korea for the construction of a 44,000 dwt coated parcel tanker, the first in a series of four ships, citing extended delivery delays.  The ship was originally scheduled for delivery in May 2008.  All progress payments to date are covered by refund guarantees.

MT Stolt Strength Released by Hijackers

Stolt-Nielsen S.A. (Oslo Børs: SNI) confirmed that MT Stolt Strength, which is on time-charter to Stolt Tankers B.V., was released on April 21 by her Somali captors.  All 23 crew members on board are safe.  The company understands that the crew will shortly be reunited with their families.   The vessel was taken by Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden on November 10, 2008 while on passage from Dakar to Kandla.

Stolt Tankers Cancels Newbuild Contract

Stolt Tankers B.V., a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen S.A. (OsloBørs: SNI), announced that it cancelled a contract with SLS Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. of South Korea for the construction of hull #474, a 44,000 dwt coated parcel tanker, the second in a series of four ships, citing extended delivery delays. On March 30, 2009, Stolt Tankers had entered into arbitration with SLS Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. disputing their claim for force majeure to justify delays on hull #474. The ship was originally scheduled for delivery in September 2008. All progress payments to date are covered by bank refund guarantees. This cancellation follows the cancellation of hull #473, the first ship in the series from SLS Shipyard Co. Ltd., on March 18, 2009.

Stolt Tankers Chooses Stratos

Stratos Global Corporation announced it has been selected by Stolt Tankers B.V. to provide a fleetwide, high-speed satellite-based communications network. Stolt Tankers is a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen S.A., provider of integrated maritime transportation services.   The Stratos network will serve Stolt’s 75-ship fleet of tanker ships with services that include: Inmarsat B, C and Fleet; and Iridium crew calling.
