Lloyd’s Register Partners with Inmarsat for Remote Survey Solution

Norway: IMR to Use Kongsberg USVs, AUVs for Marine Ecosystem Monitoring

Norwegian maritime technology and equipment specialist Kongsberg Maritime will supply Norway’s Institute of Marine Research (IMR) with four autonomous vessels. MMT Inks 10 New Contracts over 2 Months

EIVA Welcomes New Global Director

The Danish offshore survey solution specialist EIVA a/s has appointed a new global sales director, Jakob Møller Nielsen. He comes from a similar position at SPX Flow Technology, which is part of the Fortune 500 SPX Corporation. EIVA has experienced continuously growth during recent years, both in terms of the company’s product portfolio and number of staff. Most recently, a new global sales director has been appointed. Jakob Møller Nielsen joined EIVA this week and will have a key role in growing the company even further in the coming years.   Experienced strategist with technical background Jakob Møller Nielsen will be responsible for EIVA’s global sales activities, based at EIVA’s headquarters near Aarhus in Denmark.

New Vessel in MMT's Survey Fleet

In what it calls a natural step in the process of expanded subsea services in the oil and gas industry, MMT has signed a two-year charter contract for M/V Stril Explorer, operated by Simon Mökster Shipping AS. MMT said it has conducted various survey assignments from this vessel during several projects in the past. M/V Stril Explorer is an DP2 offshore vessel with a large open deck and is very suitable for launch and recovery operation, for example with ROVs, AUV and geotechnical equipment. The vessel is equipped with a 60 T offshore crane with a working depth of 1,500 m.

EIVA Appointed Representative of Teledyne Gavia

EIVA is proud to announce that it has been appointed by Teledyne Gavia as their exclusive representative in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The Gavia AUV is a self contained survey solution with a low logistics footprint and capable of operations at depths of up to 1000m while carrying out a wide range of missions for military, commercial and scientific applications. The Gavia is a modular AUV featuring plug and play modules which can be user configured in the field by inserting the required module for the task at hand. Sensors can be upgraded as newer become available, or as mission requirements change. Additional capability modules can be added on at a later date.

Belgian Navy Awards Contract to IXSEA

IXSEA announced the signing of a contract with the Belgian Navy to provide an integrated survey solution for their mine warfare data center (MWDC), the company announced in Paris on November 15. The purpose of the MWDC is to collect hydrographic data and to produce electronic and paper charts with additional military layers. IXSEA's integrated survey solution (ISS) will be used onboard minehunters for route survey, homeland security and REA (rapid environment assessment). The ISS includes state of the art imagery sensors : COTS IXSEA’s Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SHADOWS), IXSEA's new Gradiometer, Kongsberg’s Multibeam Echosounder, and IXSEA's GAPS, a positioning and motion sensor.
