MMA Offshore's Vessel Trio Nets Offshore Wind Contracts in Taiwan

Australian offshore support vessel owner MMA Offshore said Friday it had secured three contracts supporting offshore wind farm developments in Taiwan during 2023.The three contracts, with firm periods totaling 370 days, will increase the company’s contracted revenue by a total of approximately A$30 million (currently USD 20,2 million) and could provide additional revenue of approximately $15 million from 180 days in additional option periods.In March 2023, MMA Pinnacle vessel will mobilize from Singapore to Taiwan to support Seaway 7 on a wind farm development project.

UTEC Consolidates Middle East Position

Leading independent offshore survey company UTEC has consolidated its presence in the Middle East and has completed another significant contract for a major international pipelay contractor. This is the second year in succession that UTEC has provided support to the contractor in the region. The UAE (Dubai) project involved UTEC supporting the state-of-the-art DP pipelay vessel in extremely shallow water providing enhanced USBL methodologies as well as the provision of survey support services on two additional DP vessels which provided diver support and remedial services to the pipelay vessel.

Prestige Survey Offers “First” Series From Kongsberg Simrad

The Kongsberg Simrad supplied integrated positioning & multibeam package used by Thales GeoSolutions and Sonsub in a detailed survey of the Prestige tanker wreck has produced several industry firsts. Phase I of the Prestige site survey was carried out to examine the integrity of the vessel's hull, in order that a decision could be made on how to handle the remaining cargo of oil trapped inside the crippled wreck, which lies on the seabed at a depth of (3,850 m). 4000m rated LBL transponders & ROV HPR transceivers; EM2000, ROV mounted Multi-beam echo sounding system; Hydroacoustic Aided Inertial Navigation (HAIN) system, integrated into the LBL system.
