Bordelon Takes Delivery of the Shelia Bordelon

Bordelon Marine has taken delivery of the M/V Shelia Bordelon, its next Stingray 260 DP2, Ultra-Light Intervention Vessel (ULIV). This highly specialized vessel features an NOV 50 ton Active Heave Compensating crane with 3,000 meters of wire, a mezzanine deck with internal office and control rooms, capable of supporting two full work class ROV systems. The M/V Shelia Bordelon offers 6,200 sq. ft. of clear useable deck space, POB of 60, and two independent thru-hull USBL systems.

MV Sheila Bordelon to be Christened

Bordelon Marine is partnering with Susan G. Komen as part of its continuing relationship to christen the MV Shelia Bordelon on Friday, March 20th at Bordelon Marine Shipbuilders in Houma, LA. As part of its partnership Bordelon Marine will donate a portion of the profits from its ship, the MV Shelia Bordelon, to the New Orleans affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. A pink stripe will be featured on the vessel along with the Susan G. Komen New Orleans logo. In support of this partnership Bordelon Marine has also enlisted several of the vendor companies that are involved with the Shelia Bordelon to be a sponsor of the christening by making a direct donation to Susan G. Komen on behalf of the Shelia Bordelon.

Bordelon Begins Campaign to Fight Breast Cancer

Bordelon Marine has committed to a yearlong campaign to fight breast cancer that will see the company donate a portion of profits from its ship, the M/V Shelia Bordelon, to the New Orleans affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In support of this partnership, Bordelon Marine will also participate in the New Orleans Race for the Cure on October 25 with the Shelia Bordelon team. The MV Shelia Bordelon, which features a pink stripe along with the Susan G. Komen New Orleans logo, is the second vessel from the new Stingray series 260’ Class DP2.

Tidewater PSV Named For New Orleans Native Cindy Brown

Platform supply vessel Cindy Brown Tide was delivered to offshore-service giant Tidewater on Oct. 24, and chartered to oil company BP in the Gulf of Mexico. The boat's namesake is someone missed by many. Crowley Celebrates Puerto Rico's Best and Brightest

Crowley's commitment to support exemplary students continued this month, as the company awarded the Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial scholarship to University of Puerto Rico student Jan C. Nieves Rolón of Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. He is the 26th student in Puerto Rico to be awarded a Crowley scholarship. Nieves Rolón, who boasts a perfect 4.0 grade point average in high school, has enrolled as an accounting major at the university's Humacao, Puerto Rico campus. Rita Gonzalez, director of human resources at Crowley's Puerto Rico office, presented Nieves with the scholarship check.
